I can't wait to get home and give the letters to them. I took some time and designed a pretty christmas stationary and envelope with my Printmaster Deluxe. Then I wrote up a personalized letter to each of them from "Santa". I can't wait to see their eyes when they realize that they actually got a letter from Saint Nick himself. I didn't have time to get it postmarked from the North Pole, AL, but they are only 2, 3, 7, and 16...well, the 16 year old is getting one so the younger boys don't get suspicious. I love Christmas!!!
Santa should write them all letters outlining all the bad things they've done this year and saying these are the reasons his skipping them this Christmas. Now that would be funny. But then they would start crying and that would just be a big mess, so maybe your way is better.
I did P.S. them at the bottom and tell them what they needed to work on. Man...they are gonna think Santa has hidden cams on them or something I almost did the "how bad you were" to the 16 year old, just to make an example out of him, but the babies are so sweet that they would feel bad for him. Nah...he just doesn't get a car for another year!
Tara has three boy's from a previous message. Technically, they are my step children, but in my heart, they are all my boys.
I was thinking of doing the same thing this year. I was insipered to do it when I saw a Tolkien book called Letters From Father Christmas. It's a collection of the letters that he sent to his own children from Santa. It is pretty cool because alot of these were pre-LOTR but you can see where the Elven alphabet came from and the illustrations are pretty cool to.
I am soooooooooooo not looking forward to the day my daughter figures out Santa is a hoax. She is so sweet and innocent I know it's going to hurt her to learn we've been lying to her this whole time. To the parents out there...how did you deal with this bombshell when it dropped?
I think the key is to keep the wool pulled over their eyes until they are too old to really care. I just found out last year about old St Nick and it barely bothered me.
Funny you mention that. My wife and I were talking about this and she mentioned that one of her friends in college said "that moment was the first time I realized my parents were LIARS." I was like, damn that's messed up. I asked if she looked back on that and drew that conclusion in retrospect. My wife said she asked the same thing, the girl told her, "Nope. I knew it right then and there at 9 years old. I knew I could never unconditionally believe anything they ever said again." That sucks.
I wish I would have thought of that...However today, all my kids got typed letters from Santa...I still don't know who did it...but I'm glad they did, although I wish it would have been from me...
I admit to helping out ole' Kris Kringle now and then, but OF COURSE HE'S REAL! That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. Haven't you ever seen Miracle on 34th Street?????
I'm confused... Santa doesn't send mail to kids - it's the kids who send mail to Santa. When did Santa start mailing people? -- droxford
hahaha... great movie. also loved the Conan skit yesterday with "finding out there's no santa" stamps.
