Jpo is gone. no more talk about sending rice to utah or miami fo cap space. it won't help anymoe. BTW: with the million dollar exception, and half of the MLE stil avalable to use, why aren't we talking to any FA's? we could use that to pick up guys like mark jackson and bryon russell. then we can trade rice for a defencive minded SF like ruben patterson. we would have a definite playoff team: yao-cato griff-mo patterson-russell-boki cat-pike steve-jax-mooch its the offseason i had to through in a trade but the point remains, we should still be at least talking with players or teams. why so quiet????????
Now this is about the only tranaction I have seen that is a doable deal!!! I think Patterson even though with his issues can bring the same intensity that Mario Elie did from years past !!!!! Compared to other outlandish trade proposals do we really believe we could get equal value for what we pay for Mobley !!! For Example, Micheal Dickerson not played last 2 or 3 years making 7m a year crazy!!! I think giving this team time to jell together will not dissappoint !!! I get frustrated with Mobley, moochie, lack pf but 86 rockets we had robert reid at the point and allen leavell as a back up. Neither one could make a NBA roster in today's time.
I think we woud've matched by now. It's interesting that CD is in Atlanta. If we can pull off a Rice for SAR trade, we could be back in the mix. We may have to throw in another player, but I'm reluctant to throw in a F, unless we sign another one. How about we send Rice and Griff for SAR, then sign Jimmy Jackson? Yao/Cato MoT/SAR SAR/Jimmy Jackson/Boki Mobley/Pike Francis/Mooch I don't kow if there's enough shots in the world to satisfy that team. I would try to acquire a winner, because no one on that entire squad is a proven winner. Think about it. I think we'd be better off trading Mobley for Derek Anderson, and MoT for some defensive minded PF. Signing Oakley wouldn't hurt motivate this team either.
Reid and McCray had heart and focus and willed that team on. Akeem ('86) and Ralph were the talent. Shame that year ended, and with it all good things for a long while.
Personally, I think any deal that involves us shipping EG off this year will end up as a bad deal for us. He is in the last year of his rookie contract, and as such does not draw enough in trade value to interest me. I believe that Griff will have a breakout year and will prove to the naysayers that he is our PF of the future. I wouldn't mind seeing a Rice trade for a Patterson or another good SF to play in front of Boki, but other than that, I believe that we need to let JVG work with the team that already has some chemistry and awareness of each other's capabilities and tendencies. If there is a trade to be made this year, I think that we should wait to make it until January or February.
I saw Posey at the Great Clips on Briar Forest (Friday). I was going in as he was leaving. I said, "sorry to see you leave, Beall Street gets old." He responded, "I appreciate that! WELL..." in a disappointed way. I think he wanted to say more but refrained. The guy wanted to stay here! We don't need a deadline to know that he is gone! All I have to say is the man has been working out. He mentioned to his friend that he was sore because of all of the training this summer.
Wait!I' think I mised something! Where does this rumor come from and what is CD doing in Atlanta? ALA
There is nothing good in Atlanta. He certainly could not be there to make this team better. He would do more wonders right there in Houston.
I'm going to Atlanta today. I'll bring SAR home with me. I will convince Atlanta that they need Moochie and just do the trade straight up.
Miami would be crazy to trade cap space for Glen Rice, just like Utah would. a) They have no use for him, as their SF position is pretty much taken care of. b) They are already way underneath the cap this summer, yet can't find any FAs to spend on. c) Will be under the cap next year also. I would like to see what Eggie can develop into before giving him up for SAR, who has never helped his team accomplish anything and is not the rebounder or shot blocker that we need at the 4.
I'd like to support you...but here's a hint, you might want thumb through the CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement) on the plane ride to Atlanta. Good luck! We're all with you, CD!
well now we have adiran griffin. could he have met adrian in atlana to sign him? probobly. i like this guy a lot. my one problem with him is that he is undersized. i can assume that he got the rest of our MLE. that just leaves the million dollar exception left. my guess is we use it on a vet PG.
I agree with the guys here . I would rather keep eggie also. I have never really like Rah much myself but if we could get Brand or Garnett for moochmooch I am all for it.
