I conceed he isnt the smartest player and lacks consitency, but when steve is on his game he is fun to watch. He can bring an amazing intensity to the game and has the potential to completely dominate and control the entire flow at both ends of any given game.

I like him so much mainly because he's a Rocket. But what separates him from most of the other Rockets is his scoring ability. He is a pure scorer. He's Allen Iverson before they moved AI to the 2 spot. He's charismatic and actually fun to watch. Before Yao and JVG, it was almost more fun to watch him go nuts and the Rockets lose than it is to watch them win a 80-65 game nowadays. Although when the offense has clicked this year it has been more fun for me to watch than any game in years past.

Because he plays for the Rockets, which is the converse of the YOF dictum (I 'like' the Rockets because Yao plays for them)

sup, name me a few players who can haul in 21, 6, 6 every year(not including this year:( ), and are only 26 years old.......didnt think so.

its not steve, but the system that is making him slow down. Not saying the system might be bad, or maybe even something Steve can't get used to. maybe he eventually will flourish under JVG.....cant tell after 35 games.

What does it matter - he can't even get us to the playoffs. There is a difference between being one of the best of all time - Karl Malone, Dan Marino, Charles Barkley - and not winning the big one - and having great stats but not winning the big one.

Because he plays for the Rockets. There are players I hate but if they were traded to Houston, I'd instantly become a fan.

Sup123- You are obviously a Steve hater and I'm not trying to start an argument, but...

Have you ever wondered why JVG takes Yao out when he isn't playing well, and why he leaves in Steve in the game no matter what. Yes, Cato is more reliable than Wilks, but Steve doesn't come out of the game because he makes this team run. I've seen countless leads shortened or loss when Steve is out.

Yes, he does have a lot of turnovers, but atleast 2 or 3 a night are not his fault (e.g. Yao not catching it, or Cato stepping into a pass for JJ). Also, turnovers come when you have the ball a lot and when the defense is aimed at you. When it's your job to make plays, especially for other players, turnovers happen.

Yes, he does dribble a lot, but that's JVG basketball, use the clock. I have to blame a lot of this on JVG, the Rox are set on feeding Yao in the post, but when it doesn't work and they abandon it, they need to get a lot of movement (not just ball movement, but player movement without the ball too). People hate iso, but we still go the iso w/ MoT and Cat all the time, but whatever wins ball games.

Anyways, to answer your question: Steve makes the Houston Rockets work, when he's not on the court, bad things happen. Hell, we straight went on a 20 game losing streak without him. I like Steve because defenses still respect him more than anyone on the Rockets, which helps out Cuttino and MoT. JVG doesn't play Wilks because he isn't capable, but because he can't afford to keep Steve out of the game.

Because when he's on top of his game, he is very exciting to watch. Plus I love how he finishes a rare fast break(not leading one though)

Truthfully I like Steve Francis because he plays for the Rockets and I'm a Spurs fan. As long as he's playing for the Rockets I figure the Spurs won't have to worry about them. Sorry but you asked.

#1 because he plays for the Rockets.
#2 because I have over 2,000 dollars invested in him on my walls and in my sleeves.

BOTH Ends? Give me a break. Francis maybe giftted/athletic, but he got blown by by most no-name PGs night in and night out. This season I watched so many situations with 5 seconds left in the game/quarter, I have yet to see him score a single point while handling the ball. Pathetic.

Sure the 21/6/6 stats look sweet, but to get the 6 rebound, Francis routinely left his play wide open. I would rath see 21/8/2 from Francis than 21/6/10.

I did say he lacks consistency. I said when he is on his game he can be unstoppable, and I agree, we have yet to see much of what he can offer this year.
