I'd be open to trading the pick if it brought back something we need, like say a young PF. If the clippers like someone enough who is left on the board at 24 that they would let wilcox go, then I say make the deal. but I wouldn't trade the pick for a quick-fix veteran type. whether a player is added via the pick or trading the pick, it needs to be a young player, in my opinion
Package it and move up OR deal for an established player.I don't think we're going to stand pat.My money would be on trading for an established player.
I believe if we trade our 1st pick we must get another 1st rounder in return. We didn't have a first rounder last year. So we either move up or move down.
No team is going to trade anything of value for such a low pick. The best the Rockets could get is cash. They'd be better off drafting someone to bring some youth to the team.
The draft is overrated. With late 1st round picks you will hope that they can at least make it in the NBA. And if they do they likely will not make any real contribution during their 1st few seasons anyway. I know there have been a few instances of a player making a impact early on, but it's very rare.
No, not true. The Stepien rule keeps you from trading away consecutive future picks. What has happened in the past doesn't apply. Once we got past the 2004 draft, we were again free to trade away the 2005 pick. The only thing that could force us to stay in this draft would be if our 2006 first round pick has already been sent elsewhere. It might have been; I don't know. As for whether to keep or trade: either one, depending on what CD can get his hands on.
there is a reason that CD said he would NOT trade this years pick. that is because they are planning to use it and NOT trade it.
