Dont listen to anyone who says "we have enough young prospects,we dont need anymore".

Thats why you chose Collier instead of a 20 old Quentin or Mo pete.

In this era,the REALLY great ones come out early ala griffin.

You HAVE TO draftvery young players to get someone that could be great. No players stay 4 years in college now that are potential allstars.

Is odom or lewis good? yes..

Are they worth a max contract ?..no...

Agian why pay them max when we can get a 20 just as good now,and only gets 3 milliona year for 4 years? In 4 years ,lewis and odoms contract will be out to 15 mil a year.

So .in conclusion..the 8th pick is great. This years lottery s stacked to 9th pick.

IN conclusion, the next Hakeem is SKIPPING COLLEGE ,his name is AMare.Trade 8th + kenny or mo up to 3rd for him.Or stick with 8th and get Rice who out played everyone in the 2000 Mcdonalds allamerican game.

Odom one more bust,is out of L for a year.
Lewis will grip if he is not a allstar and getting max.If he was tmac, fine pay him the max.But he simply just shoots threes,we could have paid bullard for that.:Lewis does not play defense or have a penetrating move(and never will).

Rice, great post. I think you're rght that great players are going to be coming out early now. However, the NBA Draft is kind of a crapshoot. I mean a player in college will not always make the transition over to the NBA. Darius Rice looks to be a good player that can make that transition. However, I am still a little cautious of Amare Stoudemire for two reasons. The first being that it takes time for a young player to learn and establish the post game, and right now Amare usually dunks, and powers his way through the lane, in the NBA he'll get pushed back, so he'll take time to develop which I think could hurt the team a little and him as well because you're relying too much on him. Second reason, he has Leon Smith written all over him, I mean he doesn't have the same psychological problems, but he has a backgroung similar to Smith's. Nonetheless the upside on Amare Stoudemire is indeed great. To call him the "next Hakeem Olajuwon" thats a little premature, but I 'd like to see Stoudemire on this team and would love to see him develop into a great NBA player.
