I don't know about anyone else, but I like what Tmo is brining to the table, good rebounder, decent passer, and a decent shooter...a very good role player. I think right now he is playing better then MoT, and would like to see Tmo get some more minutes. DD
He can be a decent backup 3 if his shooting improves although he can hit the midrange jumper fairly well at times. I can understand why you would want to see T-Mo get more minutes than Mo-T right now but Mo-T needs to get healthy as a backup 4.
I've always said that, if T-Mo ever improves his shooting to 48% of 2-pt FG's, and 33% on 3-pt FG's, then he deserves to be the starter. Other than scoring, he does everything better than all the F's, except for shotblocking.
I've always liked TMo. I never really figured out why so many people bash him. He's rebounds well, plays decent defense, and he can knock down a shot on occasion.
On many occasions he looks lost on offense, like he doesn't know what the hell to do with the ball. The guy has a very awkward and timid game.
The three point shooting has surprised me about Tmo. But, there's something else that I see growing into Tmo's game. Rebounding. No joke. The guy has gained muscle in the last few months. And he's able to sky for rebounds and actually take contact in mid air for rebounds. He's not a PF, which is what we need. But he's a pretty good inside SF. He has more power at SF, than Eddie has at PF. Keep an eye on this. P.S. EGrif, is still my main man! He's just a kid!
Tmo doesn't really have the size or strength to play the 4 for long period of time. I was wondering why the nuggets last night didn't take it down low more.
They had Nene or Juwan brutalizing him for most of the time he was guarding one of them early in the game.
Tmo is a better rebounder than MoT. MoT has a better jump shot. Rebounding is more important. Was that hard to follow? MoT is baby soft. He tries but misses. Tmo is no rock, but somehow he gets his hands on the loose ball. I'll take it. Results are more important than looks. I only want my 4 boarding, and hitting chippies from Yao, anyway. I sure hope he doesn't need the ball, being the 4th or 5th option. Neither of these guys are going to box or bang, but Tmo is the better defender on his feet, and can come in for the occasional weak-side block or steal.
I agree completely and I've been saying that ever since I became a member on this great site. Tmo is a solid defender and rebounder, and contrary to one post, Morris is a good shot blocker. Also he is capable of hitting from the outside, he just needs more confidence which comes with increased pt. Also, he is a good passer.
Sometimes I think T(errence)M0(rris) (not MO[rice]T[aylor]) plays like a TWo (T[imber]WO[lves']), kind of like Joe Smith or some of their other (nonKG guys). Then I sometimes think TMo is a winner waiting for mo' playing time. TMo may just be Twan's biggest headache (I believe, I believem again).
Unlike Steve and Cat. You can insert either of their names into the first half of your statement. "Timid" they're not. But better they should be. Lord help me, like Yoda sound I.
I'm thinking we should just trade Mo Taylor for some Gatorade or something. MoFat and his contagious achilles injuries. Pfft. He needs to lose another 20 pounds and gain some muscle. What a waste.
Bingo, that is why many bash him. I will disagree about him being a good shooter also. But he did shoot well against the Celtics. I don't think he can play under pressure....the last shot in the celtics game he took was so bad it led to an Antoine Walker fast break layup. He did not want to take that shot. Yao gave him a good pass and he acted like he did not know what to do with it. If it ever gets to the point where T-mo is better than MoT, the Rockets are screwed. In the words of Chuck, "I could be wrong, but I doubt it."
As of today TRock is shooting .448 from the field, 3rd on the team, only Ming and Cato are shooting better from the field, that is an amazing stat since it includes his .077 three point shooting. Someone mentioned his blocks, I think his shot blocking figure would be good projected from his average per minute stats. Terence was shooting at a high % in preseason until he hurt his ankle which set him way back. If I remember correctly, last year he started out the seaon 1 for 20 from the field! FREDTERP
Fredterp, I agree; TMO's shooting is much better than I thought it was when I actually looked up his stat sheet. What amazes me about his shooting is that whenver I watch him play, 80% of his shots are from the perimeter. If he can continue to play that way and make 44% of his shots, I'm all for playing him.
