Man you type entirely to fast! I came here to make this topic. (deep down I knew it would already be here)
HEHEHE...I thought somebody would have already started it too!! Just trying to get the word out there quick so more people can listen!! Rome just confirmed that TMAC will be on in the 2nd hour.
Thought I would post the link so yall can find it in time... http://www.sportsradio610.com/ click on the listen live of course
I'll wait for a recap I cant stand Jim Rome seriously everytime I hear him I wonder how he still has a job.
quick recap: he talked about his summer trip to Chad and Africa and the problems (rape/genocide/lack of food) etc ....He sounded really moved by the people and situation up there....He said it changed his life forever and said it affects him playing bball because now he realizes the problems on the BBAll court don't even compare to what people are facing over there...so he is more free now and doesn't let problems with BBALL seem that serious..... I hope this makes him play more free and we get past the first round it was really sad to hear the stories he told....Good Job TMAC....glad to see him doing some good charity work...... but listening to him really made me think about what he was saying.... that was the jist of it...he didn't talk about bball much...
Darnit, only caught the last 4 minutes of it. Didnt hear what he hasnt said already about his trip. As a suggestion, the lastest Realplayer version is quite nice with recording audio streams (and video streams). Very simple to use. Give it a shot if you havent already
i tuned in right after the interview ended. the callers and e-mails are giving Mac props for his humanitarian efforts... he is getting a lot of respect from all around the country...
Huge T-Mac fan and was born in Tchad!!! It's great that he and other celebrities are bringing attention to the genocide/human rights violations going on there. He sounded really moved from his experiences there but when asked what the average person could do to help, he went blank and had no real response besides "keep posted". I am not judging b/c I have done nothing myself, but it would be beneficial for him to have a website with more info, stories, agencies, etc that people can go to and learn more and find info of things they can do b/c just as he said, telling people about it is good but until you are connected to it somehow and see/experience it you will go back to normal life and forget about it.
it says you have to subscribe to listen? anyway around not paying for a full month just to listen one interview. thanks
The only thing that bugged me is that Tmac, in true Tmac fashion, phrases everything so that it sounds like it is all about him. I don't think it is selfishness thing either, I just think nobody taught him how to maximize his public speaking persona. He just gives the impression that the story is about him and not the refugees he was visiting. Again, that was a fantastic thing for him to do but I wish he could brush up on his ability to communicate that.
