I am watching lakers-kings game on ESPN. They just said something like Rox not sure about Tmac's availability for season start due to not only knees, but also hip and back problems? Does anyone have more info on Tmac's status?
i would have thought all of this stuff from last season would be done with rest in the offseason...kinda worried. supposedly jvg said it's his knees, back, quad, and hip....unbelievable. i would hope tracy would take better care of his body. i hope he's fine because he's going to be the ticket, the guy for this team.
I think that it's imperative for JVG to cut down on some of T-Mac's regular season minutes. Last season he averaged a career high close to 41 minutes per game. With the addition of DA, I think a slight reduction in minutes played is attainable. As all of you are aware, T-mac is the cornerstone of this franchise, and we need him to stay healthy for years to come. As a side note, it seems like he really exerted himself this offseason, otherwise how do you explain tendinites of both knees and aching back?
here's the article Houston Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy said he's not certain Tracy McGrady will be ready to play next Wednesday against the Sacramento Kings at Toyota Center. McGrady "I'm not sure about that," he told the Houston Chronicle. "It's not just the knees. It's the knees, it's the quads, it's the hips, which ties back in to the knees again. I know people think I'm doing it [holding out McGrady] as a precaution; I'm not doing it as a precaution. I'm doing it because he can't go. There's nothing precautionary about it. We've got to try to get a handle on it now. I don't know how long he'll be out." Rockets trainer Keith Jones, however, said McGrady made enough progress Thursday for Jones to be confident McGrady will be fine. "I would hope he would play Wednesday," Jones told the paper. "He's doing a lot better. I think he's going to feel pretty good. He's feeling better today than he was yesterday." http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2207330
I say the NBA just dispense with the whole regular season and let the Rockets and Spurs slug it out for a championship on Christmas Day.
Tendenitis is no joke. I played volleyball in college. I had to sit out my second season due to tendenitis. At its worst, when I squated down, the pain felt like someone hammering a nail through my knees. I would tear up just squatting. Good news, that the Rockets are addressing the issue early.
He'll play if he's not injured. If he's not healthy, sitting out is what's good for him. It's a marathon and you want to be ready for the sprint to the finish
That will suck if he cant go. I am looking forward to this season more than any other in a long time. And now this. Someone please wave a magic wand over TMAC.
