i dont' like tracy doing this publicly. it's like a guarantee, which was what he did v. detroit in 02-03. i don't like that. shut up and play the game. tracy sounded a lil cocky there. hopefully he'll back it up but we don't need utah to be more pumped up than they already are.
i know he's confident. it's obvious. but sometimes when u increase the pressure, the role players sucked even more (like hsi orlando teammates). i'm not worried about tracy, i'm worried about tracy doing this putting too much pressure on our other guys. but by this, it seems like he expects to go all the way. he's gonna go ALL OUT. and he looks angry at the end there
Pressure on the other players? He's preemptively shouldering all the blame if the Rockets lose the series. I don't know about you, but it sounds to me like he's trying to take the pressure off of everyone else.
He's got a much better coach than he did in 02-03. T-mac didn't lose that Detroit series... Doc Rivers was horribly outclassed, outcoached, and out-adjusted by Carlisle.
It doesnt matter whether yao or t-mac be the number 1 option. The rockets need T-mac to dominate in order to win the series! Yao will get his numbers but t-mac is the one who controls the rockets' fate! Why is everyone said t-mac is having the pressure. As much as i know kobe never leads his team to the second round too! T-mac was clutch in his ESPN2 interview. He said it was on him if we [the Rockets] didn't get out of the first round and also that he SHOULD be mentioned in the same breath as Kobe, Lebron, Wade AND he'll PROVE IT in these playoffs. My confidence in T-mac increased greatly because of this interview..I think he is way stronger mentally than he was before. BTW, it would be nice if someone could upload this interview for all to see.
