Not saying he didn't deserve the award, but damn, there were so many players that improved tremendously this year. Shawn Marion, Peja Stojakovich, Baron Davis, Rasheed Wallace, Brian Grant, Jermaine O'Neal, etc.., etc... A lot of players had break out years. ------------------ My dream job is to be a Houston Rockets towel boy.
The reason T-Mac shone this year, was that he was the one carrying the team. Alot of the players mentioned have a ton of supporting cast, and they still excel. McGrady had very few consistent guys to keep up with him, so he didn't have anybody stopping him from blowing up. ------------------
Marion could have an argument, but I still feel T-Mac deserved the award. ------------------ Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things.
Det, Dirk improved from his rookie season to his soph season. From last season to the current one, his numbers didn't improve greatly(3 points, less than 3 boards) T-Mac's production improved greatly:11 points, 1 board, 1 assist ------------------ Never Underestimate the Heart of a Champion
yeah, he did lead his team in points... but also on a team that "has nobody" where "no one else can score" its pretty amazing that he was 2nd on the team in assists----who's he gonna pass to that will make the shot and give him the assist? the award was definitely well deserved. ------------------
