remember last year when Phoenix lost Nash for a few weeks? they were absolutely horrible while Nash was gone, even with bonafide stars like Stoudamire, Marion and Joe Johnson healthy. Nash made other players better. Same in this situation. Without McGrady, we are like the Suns last year without Nash. Just horrible. McGrady makes others better. Yao doesn't

Looks like TMac has the MVP locked up.

It is fair to say you can divide Rockets into three parts, roughly equal weighted. One is T-Mac(35%), one is Yao(30%), and the rest of the team(35%).

So Rockets can go nowhere unless both Yao and TMac play. The only difference is Yao has a much better backup player than TMac does.

T-mac is not our Steve Nash, he is more important. Without T-mac we are winless.

True. But to be fair, we only played one losting team(NO with 6-7 record) without Tmac. Atlanta is the first real weak opponent Rockets faced in a long time, and they should get this one even if Tmac didn't play.

Last season, Nash was injured for 6 or 7 games, and the suns were winless those games.

    More realistically: T-Mac 65%, Yao 10%, others 25%

Great. Now Yao is underrated not only by media, but by Rockets fans as well.

Before tonight, Rockets played 14 games against teams with combined 110-73 record, Rockets was +12 when Yao was on the court, -79 when Yao was on the bench. That's only worth 10%?

This is getting pathetic. Reading all these "Fire JVG", "Trade Yao" threads start to hurt my eyes, I am going to come back & dig up all those bandwagoners' posts when the Rockets finish the season, which will be 57-win, to see where they are & what they are going to say.
