It's obvious. All the injuries and the lack of conditioning is all setting up Tmac for another slow break in into the season. It's gonna VERY similar to the way he started the 06-07 season, if not worse. He is gonna average almost no Ft attempts and just chuck jumper after jumper, and shoot a very poor percentage doing so. No explosiveness is gonna be in his game. Let's all be prepared
Let me state .. like I stated last year I don't Care About The Regular Season I mean I will watch . . and I will enjoy the games but The Playoffs is what matters to me If they come in as an 8th Seed I'd be happy cause I know they gonna kick the Crap out of the #1 seed so I don't mind if T-Mac 'plays' his way into shape KEWL . . he may need the rest save it for the Playoffs T-Mac! I have made it a rule not to say anything negative about Tracy until he actually gets hurt and starts missing CRUCIAL games. Other than that Tracy is what he is and we know he is a guy that can give us great stats.
I have no doubt there will be times during the season we will get frustrated at McGrady's lack of desire/ability/health to drive the ball to the basket. What i'm hoping is that he can use Yao and Artest and others by making good passes off of pick an roll and by drawing double teams on the perimeter or in the high post. He can still be very effective without shooting every possession, he needs to be that Tmac, not the one who settles for contested jumpers. That should obviously only be a last resort in the offense. Our offense would be in trouble if Mac was shooting more than 3-4 contested jumpers per game, we have to avoid relying on him to bail us out. We have more options than ever before so lets utilise them.
since when do we care about the season we have to the team to go deep deep deep as long as we are good to go for the playoffs i dont care win it all is our goal
You do realise that in order to succeed in the playoffs - you have to actually do well enough to actually qualify for them. And a good, homecourt seed is REALLY helpful in getting you deep into the playoffs. There are no free passes, especially in todays Western Conference.
Rafer, Artest, Shane, Scola and Yao with Tmac off the bench is good enough for PF..... Let him rest and take us all the way in June.
I think the OP has a fair assessment. Mcgrady will start slow and finish strong. It's the way he's always been. Artest will be our most consistent player on both ends of the floor in the regular season as will Yao. However, If we are to win a championship it will mostly be on the shoulders of Mcgrady. I wouldn't be surprised if Mcgrady coasts the majority of the season. And by coasting I mean he will be creating more for others and not really look for his shot so don't expect 25+ ppg but I do expect a fair amount of assists and easy buckets for everyone else and lots of wins.
Why bother? He has been "sitting" for the last 4 months - what's one more gonna do? Need to get the full team out there and gelling ASAP. Especially because of the tough nature of our first month or so. We need to make sure we dont lose too much ground in that opening stretch.
man your psychic!!!!! wat are the lotto numbers gonna be? why did you start this thread?? the people wanna know!!
hey if tmac plays crap and we win 60 games i'm happy and if he plays crap and he plays 82 games im happy
