I got flamed last year for a trade t-mac thread. I still think we could have gotten decent value for TMAC in the off-season and should have pulled the trigger because of his back, but last night should permanently shut up all those "T-Mac is soft" idiots. The MAN was being pummeled all over the floor last night, but kept going to the hoop and kept playing defense, even though he was in obvious pain. Anyone doubting his heart and desire should give it up after last night. This team could go all the way if T-MAC and YAO could stay healthy for the last half of the year and through the playoffs.
Anybody who thinks Tmac is a wuss or doesn't play injured should be slapped. Is he a drama queen? Sure. I wish he would stop saying stuff like "I've lost a step" or "I feel like a 95 year old". If fully healthy (which I dont think will happen again), the guy is a top 3-5 player in the NBA and a bonafide MVP contender.
every athelete plays with pain on a daily bases. don't take it the wrong way because i wouldn't trade t mac either but just because u play with pain doesn't make u more of man than any other athelete
Therein lies the million dollar question. I am confident Yao will be healthy but a bad back is a bad back. Time for TMAC to change his game drastically to prolong his career. Once Yao is back, he should be the 3rd or 4th scoring option and the primary playmaker. We need him on the court.
i think the assumption is that tmac was playing with more pain than the average pain every athlete plays through. what you're saying is kind of like saying every nba player plays the game, period. just because you play doesnt make you more of a player than other players. obviously, the point is that the degree of pain tmac is playing through distinguishes him. just as the degree of skill with which players play the game distinguishes how much of a player they are.
Was it me or did it seem that the nets were making a special effort to make sure and give Tracy hard fouls last nite?
The one where Richard Jefferson fouled him by jumping into him at the 3 pt. line was really scary. He probably was still sore and stiff so that obviously didn't help much. It didn't look like it was on purpose though, T-Mac almost walked into it.
T-Mac is a man. He is also THE MAN. If healthy the only players better are DWade and LeBron. That Dallas series he was a dominant player, he stepped up his game bigtime for the playoffs, shutting down Dirk and scoring 30+,and hitting game winning jumper in gm 2, taking to the hole. He is a bit of a drama queen, but the guy has tons of heart and it has shown the past 2 games, playing hurt obviously but knowing his team needs him to save the season w/o Yao.
I think people label Tmac 'soft' the same way they say that about Yao.. To them Tmac is 'soft' because he got injured in the first place, while I see 'toughness' in him for sticking it out and playing through it courageously.. Same thing with Yao, people say he's soft because he doesn't throw elbows, gets dunked on, grimaces when he gets injured.. They see weakness, when I see toughness when he plays through all the injuries(except this one), never complains about it, gets beat up by other bigs every night.. and still takes it like a champ..
Thanks for another misleading thread. At first I thought that TMac was a transsexual or something like that.
I think T-Mac is finally starting to feel: there really isn't much of a "next time" left. He's got to make it happen now. He will play with more commitment than he used to, when he admittedly slacked a little in Orlando. He's shaping his career now and there's no looking back.
