Tmac deserves better. He has the rare mix of talent, athleticism, and heart to win multiple NBA championships. All he needs is a decent coach and a few good players around him. For me, watching him play the game of basketball is poetry in motion. Watching Yao vs Boozer is like watching child abuse. I think the Rockets need to take the Phoenix Suns approach and get some guys in here who can RUN. We are at our worst when we play a team who can run, mainly because Yao just can't keep up. Big slow centers in today's NBA are tired. In dreams day, having a dominant center was necessary, but not anymore. Look what the Bulls did to the heat and Shaq, ran his ass off the court. I want to keep Yao, but I think his minutes should be limited and he should not be on the floor in crunch time. He isn't good under pressure and he gets so damn tired. Why do you think our 7'6 center couldn't get 1 of 3 offensive rebounds in game 7 agains the jazz in crunch time? Because he was too TIRED. Put Deke in there and you possibly have a different outcome. Tmac deserves better. Rafer Alston, are you kidding me? Please tell me this playground hotsauce wanna be legend isn't running the point for an NBA team. Granted, Rafer played decent in game 7, came up with some big steals, but like clutch pointed out, he had the worst shooting percentage in Rockets history. Give me Mike James, or even better, Jason Terry ANY DAY. It is amazing that Tmac brought this team of misfits to have the 4th best record in the western conference, WITH a bad back. And he never complained and was very very unselfish in the process. 13 assists, in game 7, are you kidding me? Sometimes, you can't win for losing. If he had taken more shots people would have called him selfish like Kobe, but instead he got these scrubs involved and trusted them way too much in crunch time and he STILL gets criticism. What gives? Watching him break down in that interview killed me. I cried. Tmac actually cares about winning, he cares about his team, he cares about the city of Houston. He wants to win more than anything. He deserves our support. I love that guy. My theory is that only chinese fans and Steve Francis fans criticize Tmac, and they only do it to make their guy look better. If this doesn't stop, then i'm going to get onto the "Trade Tmac" bandwagon and i'm going with him to wherever that may be, because, Tmac deserves better.
Agree with your title but not this "My theory is that only chinese fans and Steve Francis fans criticize Tmac"
Thanks for highlighting this point. I am not so sure I agree with myself on this theory either, but I just can't fathom how anyone without an agenda can criticize Tmac? Help me out here.
That's a horrible thesis. All he needs is a decent coach and a few good players? JVG: coach of the year candidate Decent players: Yao Ming, Shane Battier, Luther Head, Chuck Hayes It's not his fault. But let's be real. He's not the player he used to be. He's not on the same level as Kobe or Carlos Boozer or Steve Nash to take a decent coach and a few good players to success. Yao Ming will improve. T-mac will be the same. We need to add talent with the MLE, vet min, and young draft pick. That should be enough to push him into 2nd, but it won't change the fact that he's not among the elite as he used to be.
You should be glad to know than most Chinese fans are criticizing Yao now, not Tmac, better yet, some of them are praising him.
Dumbest thing i've heard in a while and judging from the posts in the forum since the G7 loss, that's really saying something .
You guys are horrible.. T-Mac has help. Look at the Kobe situation for the love of the basketball NATION!!!!! T-Mac has the most dominate C in the league at this stage. he has a great defender in Battier...etc. you guys always ignore how good the Rockets really are.. it could be Gundy that is holding the Rockets back or it could be the T-Mac/Yao duo.
Tmac only has Yao and Battier, the rest are just here to fill up the roster Rox NEEDS a better PG to create things for the team and a TRUE PF as well
1. I am a Steve Francis Fan . . and I simply critisize T-Mac by the same Criteria people rip Steve . .. HE AIN'T GETTING IT DONE . . folx said nothing else mattered. . he didn't get it done. . . well . . T-Mac gets the same courtesy . . . so does JVG 2. The Rockets fan deserve better than a half *ss effort half the time. Trying to TURN IT ON when he feels like it 3. Steve Francis had Worse talent on his teams than tracy has now . . and lost to a superior team than the teams tracy lost to. . . . [Lakers 04 >> Dallas 05 and Utah 07] So excuse me if I am not trying to hear Excuses from the NO EXCUSES Squad Tracy played a Good Game Seven . . .Boozer played a better one One star Carried his team to the 2nd round the other star did not! Rocket River
Toronto, Orlando, Houston. 6 playoff series. 6 first round exits. Instead of excuses, TMac should look in a mirror.
I was thinking the exact same thing earlier..... After this season, it's either the players' fault or the coach's fault.... Personally I'm of the opinion that the Rockets roster is good enough to be championship calibre with only small changes. I don't "blame" JVG i just think he can't do any more for this team. You can either change the team and keep JVG in order for him to rebuild a team at the level the Rockets are now , and I doubt he can take a team higher, or you can thank him for everything he's done and find a coach to take THIS team to the next level. Not saying he didnt do a good job, and surely in some aspects of certain players' development he did great. But I just think that it's time for a change now. And I do think the Rockets players have more to give. For example, I don't think Deke's and Howard's game while Yao was out was a coincidence. I think that JVG was forced to run different plays and play in a different way that suited them more. I think we need a coach that will consider different plays to get the best out of everyone. Like how I think that under the circumstances this year, Plays should have been drawn up to get the corner 3 from battier more often, rather than as a last resort shot. I guess it all comes down to what every "anti-JVG" rockets fan here says. He's too single-minded and stubborn and won't change things until he CAN'T do otherwise... I swear, sometimes I feel he wouldn't even change his starting 5 if THEY didn't ask for a rest....
Lets not get carried away putting Boozer on the same level as Kobe and Steve Nash...He's a good player but he went off because of matchup issues, not because he's a superstar. If Hayes had been on HIM instead of Okur, Boozer would not have had the series he had. Because we didn't have two of Hayes to stick on the two, we took Okur outta the series rather than risk Okur lighting us up.
