In TMac's mind, if you have a "give me the ball and get out of the way" attitude, it means you can play.

Nearly every star feels the same way at times. Even Dirk demands to have the ball when he feels the need to. That doesn't mean that I want to see anyone abandoning the team.

Hey it's better than "I'm going to stand at halfcourt, not get in the offense, and refuse to play defense. Why? Because my knee hurts. :D"

    TMac disagrees with you.

That attitude is the attitude of a real player

Compliment. TMac's referring to the ability to dominate and take over a game. Of course it's a selfish mindset but don't you think that sometimes, that's what your team needs? Especially when they're struggling. There are times in the past couple games of the Rockets where I have really wished KMart would get selfish and force himself to score! The guy barely took 6 shots against OKC. Either he's hurt and he's hiding it or this is what it means to be an efficient scorer by never forcing anything or he's afraid of looking selfish as the new guy on the team and wants to defer to the system and the other players.

Kobe Bryant said about Brandon Roy that sometimes a dominant scorer just has to not worry about being selfish and just do it. For instance, LeBron loves setting up his teammates and getting them involved but they're struggling, you can be sure he's gonna come out self-centered and firing in the second half, making sure it's a close game.

To say he has never seen Hedo or Dirk take over games does sound fairly ridiculous to me (they both have made some clutch plays throughout their careers).

Kobe and LeBron have found ways to do this while playing well within the team concept.

I just found it funny because my last memory of TMac ('08-'09) was demand the ball, get everybody out of the way, hold onto it and try to make a play. With the results being disastrous to our offense.

I thought demanding the ball and taking over by yourself WAS Tmacs view of a team concept?

what tmac said is what every superstar has said once or twice in their careers. so that's a compliment to gallo: that he has that "rare" mentality.

most international players don't have that mentality: if someone scores on you and talks at you, they don't do jack. i was impressed with gallo when he took it at melo. he'll be a very nice player for years to come.

yup and that's why he gets smacked in the head by kobe bryant.

all players who strive to be one of the best in the game has to have this mentality, esp. for a scorer.

kobe, lebron, wade, melo, durant, even youngins like evans/jennings have shown it.

Tmac is giving Gallinari tips about how to impose his will on games as well as how to make sure people don't get a Bud Lite when they order a Heineken.

T-mac was indirectly blasting Yao. Cos Yao never demanded the ball!

That's a compliment, especially comparing him to Hedo and Dirk. It's funny though how he says he hasn't seen Dirk do it. He must've forgotten about the playoff series against Dallas where Dirk took over the game and took some big shots to put us away.
