lies, damn lies, and statistics. if you watched the game...especially the first half...you saw the same damn curly neal dribbling display from moochie. dribble till there's 2 secs on the clock then pass it (maybe) and say "shooooot it!!!" c'mon. and we wonder why our outside shooters are so damn streaky. look no further than our play calling (or lack thereof) and our reluctance to get into our offense early preferring to dribble for 20-22 seconds instead. he tried to redeem himself with the "and 1" towards the end of the game, but it was not enough. 1. missing eddie at the end of the game (again....) when he was wide open for a 3 (after hitting 3 tough ones in a row). 2. a virtual sieve on defense against chris childs and alvin williams. at one point, it was obvious that whoever moochie was guarding was the goto man for toronto. 3. start the game off by shooting like 5 of the rockets first 7 shots. great job by the point guard. great job. numbers wise, he looked great out there. but when you realize the amount of points he gave up, how he gave them up (w/o effort...allowing the raptors to get EAAAASY sets...never disrupting or pressuring the point guard), and his effect on the rockets offense (slow to get in sets results in hurried shots from the perimeter) i find it hard to call that a good game. that said, if he could have just done #1, i could have likely forgiven that piss poor point guard effort. TLD is nothing but a globetrotter wannabe whos stats looked great, but actual affect on the team (getting us easy shots) was way less than spectacular.
I'm reminded of Isiah's comment which went something like "I could score 40 points every night if I wanted to, but the team would lose." Moochie took more shots than anyone else on the team. He watched that Allen Iverson guy the night before.
Yes, but he got 25+ points, so he must be doing something right. In his mind, this means MORE DRIBBLING. If one crazy dumbass shot goes in, why not shoot more?
