First let me say that I love Francis and he has mad game. But I'd like to see him play more 2. The Rockets should do everything they can to draft TJ Ford. He is a real point guard. His game is old school like Kidd and Magic. With TJ running the point everyone on the team would get involved.

He may be good, but would you really want a 5'10" point guard leading your team in the NBA?

why not? he's taller than earl boykins isn't he? and earl boykins has turned the warriors into playoff contenders. :D plus i read a scouting report that said this guy tj ford is the quickest point in all of basketball. all of basketball. meaning he'll be the fastest point in the nba. the negative with him is he can't shoot very well. but he can penetrate and dish the ball to his teammates. excellent court vision. sort of sixth sense that only true point guards have. i heard he's projected as a low lottery pick like 10. there's no chance of us getting him unless we trade somebody good. but there are probably going to be some cheap free agent veteran point guards available in the offseason anyway.

With today's legalization of zone defenses his heigth would not be a problem.

TJ Ford is already 10x the PG that Steve is, and is exactly the type of player the Rockets could use.

TJ does not care if he scores one point as long as the team wins.

Ive seen TJ play live and I must say that he got game. There arent many point guards that look to pass first like TJ. He led the nation in assists as a freshman. He still needs to work on his shot but that will come along. Id give up cat for the chance to draft TJ.

You still have to guard a man's shot which has, you play zone to make up for a player's lack of quickness, on defense, not lack of defense. You have this fixation with zone defense, the reason why many teams don't play the zone is because believe or not, these NBA guys shoot right over the top of zones.

quickest in all of basketball? have you seen tony parker play? i believe parker is ford's age too and taller. and the point you make with boykins isn't a great one..the warriors don't play any defense in the first place and boykins only adds to their defensive problems.

anyhow i love ford and i think he will be a great pro and i think his shot will develop and will be able to get steals on defense, but there is no way we are getting him unless we make some sort of blockbuster draft day trade in the 2004 draft. from what i understand tj isn't leaving after this year or at least i hope to god he isn't.

we have a much better chance at getting a free agent PG than TJ as you said at the end.

If the NBA passes the age minimum rule for next year's draft TJ will go #1 overall. Say he's short, say he cant shoot, say whatever, there is not a player TJ's age that is anywhere close to him. I have watched him play for the last two years at UT and in the State Tournament, the guy is a winner. I am just really hoping that Miami gets LeBron this year and TJ next, Riles would be the perfect coach for LeBron and TJ and along with Butler they would be the Kings of the East. Anyway, the Rox have NO chance at getting TJ
