He's from Houston, isn't he? Is he going to stay at UT for a while? If he were to declare next year, he's top 10. What do you think?
Yes he's from Houston and I hope he stays at UT and gets some experience. If he leads the nation again in assists and proves he has an outside game then he will certainly be a lottery candidate. I watched him play in HS and he definitely had a stacked team, but he ran it very well. Very athletic and good court sense.
A team would be crazy if they took him in the top 10. IMO Ed Cota was a better player and he didn't get a shot at the NBA plus Cota was taller.
I think next year he will step up his rebounds and eventually become about a 14pts., 12 assists, and 6 rebounds a game guy in the NBA. I might be crazy bt thats just what i think.
Lil... Cota was a smart, heady ball player, but he had nowhere NEAR the athletic ability and blazing quickness that TJ has. He'll be able to get to the rim in the NBA, assuming he works on his jumpshot enough to not warrant the Doug Gottlieb treatment.
Yeah but its too early to say that he will make it to the NBA. Cota had the same type of hype when he played with Vince and Jamison. I still don't think he is better than Cota.
TJ is the Jason Kidd IMO. HE makes everyone around him better and has the same "team first, stats later" mentalitity Kidd has. He's won everywhere he's been, even on a depleted Texas team who lost their only All-American. He'll be a top 5 pick.
I hope TJ Ford stays at UT for at least two more years. He'll be a top 5 draft pick as long as he stays in college and learns some more skills.
TJ's similar to Kidd. But it will be hard for him to play in the NBA, at his height. There are just some passes that he won't be able to make in the NBA, that he can pull off in high school and college. BTW, I'm a huge TJ fan, most exciting HS player I've ever seen.
