without the offense of Aaron Brooks, this team will struggle to score like it has for 5+ seasons.

TJ Ford is a better passer than AB0.

Why would we give up Landry/Cook/Barry for Ford? We are in dire need of Power Forward's Which Landry and Cook are. We already have a plethora of guards....we don't need another one.

TJ is definitely an upgrade in terms of being a true PG... but he still ain't that great.

The dude has lost his starting PG job twice on two different teams now.

I'm not willing to sacrifice AB's potential for a slightly better upgrade.

We don't have enough crummy contracts to make a Ford deal worth it. He may be better than Lowry, but he would not be a huge upgrade off the bench.

TJ ford is a better passing point than brooks, but THINKS he has a jumper or certain offensive abilities...plus he's reached his peak/prime, which isn't saying much since he keeps being traded and losing his starting job.....not an overall upgrade over brooks...

He was a good passer at UT. Of the games I have seen he can pass pretty well in the NBA.

    McGrady
    Brooks
    Landry
    Cook
    Cash considerations

    Ford
    Murphy
    Tinsley
    Hibbert
    Rush
    #13 pick(Draft Earl Clark)

    Rockets Depth Chart
    C-Yao/Hibbert/Dorsey
    PF-Scola/Murphy/Hayes
    SF-Battier/Clark/White
    SG-Artest/Rush/Barry
    PG-Ford/Lowry/Tinsley

    You get a backup C-Hibbert
    Back up PF/C-Murphy
    Young scoring wing SG-Rush
    Quick starting PG-Ford
    Lotto pick with upside SF-Clark

Might as well change our name to the Houston Pacers lol j/k

But that would have to break the record for players in a 2 team trade

Brooks might be better than Ford right now, and will definitely be better in the long run.

If the Amare deal comes into reality then getting Ford for Landry plus fillers would compensate for the loss of AB.

If TJ Ford isnt a passing point guard, who the heck is?

Aaron Brooks has a better outside shot that Ford. TJ Ford is better in every other aspect except injury history. But he makes too much.

That's questionable but I think he's the better player for our team. Ford is the better playmaker and better in transition. He's not as a effective in the half court like more methodical PG's (CP3, Deron Williams, etc.). He's more like a poor man's Jason Kidd.

He would be awful playing off of Yao. Do we really need a great playmaking PG? Assuming we're building an offense around Yao's post game, whoever plays PG will likely spend plenty of time spotting up for 3's. I think we're better off with a scoring PG who can make plays when necessary. A Mo Williams/Arenas/Nelson type player would fit perfectly.

Indeed a point of concern, but if it would take a trade of Landry and fillers only and the Amare tade comes true then It might be worth the risk.
