AUSTIN (AP) -- T.J. Ford said he's unsure if he'll continue his basketball career with Texas or move on to the NBA draft. "It's a possibility," the point guard said after UT's basketball banquet Monday night. "I haven't had time to think about it. I haven't had time to sit down with my coaches." Ford has until May 12 to submit his name for early entry into the NBA draft. Saturday, he won the John R. Wooden Award, his second major college basketball player of the year honor. The sophomore, who also won the Naismith Award last month, led Texas to its first Final Four appearance since 1947. He led the Longhorns with averages of 15 points, 7.7 assists and 2.0 steals. "Right now I am still part of this Texas basketball team and still part of this university. I'm still here," said Ford, the first Texas player to win both the Wooden and Naismith awards. "Until I make a decision, I'm still at the University of Texas http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/basketball/college/news/2003/04/15/ford_texas_ap/
crazy... I really want to see him come out but he has some improvements and if he comes out this year, then we have no chance of getting him, unless hes a 2nd round pick but thats not likely.
While I normally support people who leave college early (or skip it altogether), I'm going to be really pissed if T.J. Ford leaves. You don't tell people you're definitely staying, then go back on that word. When people ask you, you say you don't know if you don't friggin' know. That's what Mihm did.
It looks like Ford is going pro... http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/basketball/college/news/2003/04/29/ford_nba_ap/
