Holy hell! McClain actually predicted something!!! http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/fb/texansfront/7416756.html
Wow, I LOVE Munchak (he was a friend of my Dad's during his Houston days), but....head coach? 14 years as an O-line coach for the same team....and he's ready to be a head coach? Wow.
I don't know Munchak's personality or organizational/leadership skills, but this is a huge step. Seems like Bud is trying to save some money with this hire.
Maybe Munch turns that team around from being the NFL's Jazz. Then again Mawae was dirty as hell so who knows.
Bud Adams keeping that Houston connection going so he can hold on to Houston Titans fans. He'll sign Kolb too.
Sort of like the Eagles naming their offensive line coach of the past 12 years to be defensive coordinator.
About a year ago, the Texans were considering Muchak for the vacant offensive coordinator position after Kyle Shanahan left to join his dad in Washington. Jeff Fisher denied us permission to interview him before we even had a chance to ask. Don't know if we would have offered him or if he would have accepted, but it worked out for him in the end because he ended up with a HC gig.
http://espn.go.com/blog/afcsouth/post/_/id/21212/the-first-of-many-munchak-staff-questions Kuharsky speculates that Muchak may want to hire Bruce Matthews away from the Texans.
No way in hell I'm letting Matthews interview with a division rival, even if it is a promotion. That would give a clear advantage to the Titans since he now knows our offense and could aid in stopping it.
Don't know if you Texan fans realize it or not but Bruce's son Keven started at center for the Titans after Amano got hurt....
