I'm 6'3 and pretty skinny, I should be able to dunk, but i have no hops and I think my technique is wrong.

I can touch the rim pretty easily, and get my whole hand over the rim barely with a running start.

I need some tips on excercises to increase my vert and tips on how to improve my dunk technique.

Now when I try to dunk, I always seem to hit the ball off of the back of the rim, ideas?

Focus on getting the ball inside the rim before you grab on to it after the ball goes through. I don't know if that helps.

learning how to dunk is a whole diff story than trying to learn how to jump higher, in order to dunk the basketball, you have to get high enough and have control of the ball. now to jump higher, try doing some squats, or jumping on and off on boxes of at least 2 ft high, theres all kinds of different things u can do

Strengthen your calf muscles. Do some exercises and running on your tip toes.

You should train for power or explosiveness. Exercises like squats or jumping lunges are great. Jumping lunges are an exercise that only sports trainers are familiar with. Google jumping lunges to get an idea what they look like. If you use dumbbells they are a great exercise for creating power in the hamstrings and glutes. Plus they will really get you in shape.

    have u tried Air Alert?

Usually during games I try to jump as high as I can on every rebound. I think it depends on how you usually jump though (off one foot or two) to get the max out of your hops for a dunk.. but you don't have to listen to me cause i never dunked before in my life haha
