Any tips for a building a backyard garden pond for koi fish?

I looked at this pond system by Savio Pond Package. It seems expensive, but that's the only complete system I could find. What are the essentials of setting up a pond for koi?

    Thanks!

Don't bother, raccoons will eat all your fish.

Most everything you need to know is on this web site under the 'know-how" tab.

They are located out in Katy. It's where I got all my ill-fated koi.
(some did survive for a year or so)

To avoid predators you pond should have steeper dropoffs on the edges.
