    I smell ROY...

What pick was this guy again? I remember watching him at Iowa State and being amused by his skills, but 23 assists? Dahhhhhmn.

What was Steve's rookie year triple-dub? 25, 15 and 12? I think Tinnsley beat him out on that one.

I just wish I had Tinsley on more than one of my four fantasy teams. :)

He plays nowhere near Francis, he reminds me of a better version of Mark Jackson...

I hope Rudy was reading the box scores tonight.

It just shows to go you that a rookie CAN perform.

Get Eddie's as$ off the bench in into the friggin' frying pan. If he sucks, at least we find that out now, and not in two years or so. Let him gain experience. On the job training, and all those other cliche's.

That pacers team is the perfect fit for tinsley to inflate his numbers. Rose and Miller just run off a ton of screens, Tinsley hits them when they free up, and they swish it. Also, J. Oneal is a perfect alleyoop catcher who runs the floor well. On every rebound for the pacers, they all run, and tinsley runs the show from the middle of the court. I like Jeff Foster cause he's a great rebounder, and he runs the floor hard. Overall, Tinsley makes that team very fun to watch.

I agree DREAMer, just throw Griffin and T-Mo out there and let them play. If Griffin plays half as well as Tinsley the Rockets are virtually a lock for the playoffs and a decent seed. I hope Rudy looked at the boxscores and ESPN. It's one thing to slowly bring Griffin in to get used to the NBA, I agree. But he's not giving him a chance at all when Griffin is showing flashes of good play!

because there is a ROY candidate floating around means Griffin is ready

Let's see what Jordan has to say:

    Is Tinsley 19 years old?

Does Rudy really have a history of not playing rookies? hmmmm. Horry, Cassell, Dickerson, Mobley, Francis....hmmmm. (If I say Matt Maloney will you laugh?) This rookie is 19 years old, though. And is really only looking ready to play SF right now, imo...which happens to be our deepest position.

Maybe, just maybe Kenny Thomas is kicking Griffin's butt in practice. Griffin is on record saying he was surprised at how strong Thomas is and that he was "tossing me around."

I think Rudy has an excellent track record with getting rookies important and significant playing time. I thought the rap on Rudy was his use of superstars. So is he poor with superstars *and* rookies, now?

Don't lump me in, I trust Rudy with superstars AND rookies. I just wonder why Griffin basically gets no minutes, or doesn't play in games. I've been saying all summer that physically Griffin isn't ready for the minutes people were ready to lump on him. BUT why can't he get minutes at all? It'd be nice to see some minutes here or there. I don't think Griffin is going to win ROY, I don't think he's ready to break out for another 2 years, but it would be nice to see him get a few more minutes a night OR for the Rocks to add another quality big man up front until Mo is ready to go.

Tinsley played well, but the Indiana stat-keepers were . . . generous . . . with his assists.

I havn't seen him play, but judging from the rooks on our team, it's sometimes hard to play rooks if you think they'll hurt your momentum or opportunity to win. And theres a growing feeling among coaches that players who havn't had much college grooming do better to watch a lot than to play. The thought is that they work out all the mistakes in practice where they can be corrected immediately, instead of on the court in gametime where they may be compounded by lack of confidence.

Jamaal Tinsely didn't exactly follow up his great night with a similar performance:

    33 min, 4 pts, 1 - 5 shooting, 3 rebs, 6 ast, 5 TOs, 4 stl, 5 fouls
