He's cleaned up his game a bit...seems to be playing much more under control. I know many talk about him as a PG, but ultimately I see him as a 2/3. (maybe 6'6" 225 - 230lbs)
Love his attitude. Dude comes in, shows great body language, puts maximum effort and has nba caliber skills
I think he and Garuba need to go to RGV for half a season. They are both extremely talented athletically, but really need some coaching and repetition. I do think he has a future in the NBA.
All the young guys should be playing. Playing all these vets in the rotation and still getting mopped.
He’s looked solid at PG in garbage time. Seems to have grown out of the “chucker” label early. Looked comfortable as a floor general this past game. I don’t see a reason why he shouldn’t have Augustine’s minutes.
He does seem to have smartened up a bit. He was vomit inducing in the summer league and preseason but looks way way better now. Who says you can't develop without minutes? That said, what is DJ even still doing on the team. Every second he's on the floor just seems like a waste. Just give him the John Wall treatment already.
He can't be any worse than DJ Augustin so why not? One of the things that's most frustrating about this team is how bad these "vets" have been...usually your coach is faced with the decision of "play the vets who help us win or the young guys who make us lose but need minutes to develop..." But for the rockets, the older guys are also some of the worst players on the team. Augustin House and Theis are probably 3 of our 4 worst players.
He still tunnels quite a bit, but then again DJ has been awful as well. Might as well if DJ is also out there chucking
I don’t think he looks very good at all but I do agree let’s give some minutes to see what he can do and improve
Like him a lot, would love to see him play more minutes, but I’m getting real tired of trying to turn guys into point guards who just aren’t point guards. We have a team full of combo guards and guys who can play multiple positions, but very few who are allowed to play one spot well. I really wish we had a true decent young point on this team instead of a half dozen guys who basically all do the same thing. Still, he’s what we’ve got, so might as well throw him out there!
