During the countdown to what would happen with Dwight Howard this last week, Doc Rocket wrote this gem:

    http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=8055122&postcount=302

If you've followed the Dwight To LA dynamic, this information had the ring of truth. Dwight has never seemed to be a big fan of Kobe since Kobe gave him the "be my Tyson Chandler" recruiting pitch.

However, as often happens in media circles for image management (read: PR) purposes, the story got a bit glossed-over or supposedly 'debunked' once Dwight picked Houston:

    http://slumz.boxden.com/f16/stephen...ing-has-nothing-do-kobe-but-jim-buss-1948405/

So, no issues with Kobe. Don't blame Kobe, Lakers fans, for Dwight not coming back seemed to be the message there.

And then we get this earlier tonight:

    http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/...wanted-end-kobe-bryant-era-los-angeles-lakers

So, I think it's time to chalk up another information "victory" for Doc Rocket.

I'm not saying Dwight Howard likes Mike D'Antoni's coaching or that he likes Jim Buss (apparently) running the team.

However, anyone who has been paying close attention to the Dwight In LA drama knew that Kobe has played a big role in all of this. And it's not surprising that Kobe apparently played a large role in Dwight's decision to leave LA.

    Thanks, Kobe.

    And thanks, Doc Rocket.

There was one guy, ex player on ESPN i think, forgot who it was that said Buss and D'antoni were just the low hanging fruit because the issue was always Kobe, but to directly criticise Kobe risked the ire of the Kobe hordelings.

More like everyone who called him out owes the guy an apology. He's been around for 10+ years on this board, this was never an issue before.

Yep. This issue was always there.

Kobe just had dinner with Melo, I think. Probably about Melo's free agency in 2014. Melo is one of the only guys in the league who seems to like Kobe.

Dwight's camp was ticked off BEFORE Dwight went to LA because of Kobe's recruiting pitch to Dwight. Then Dwight got there, and Kobe did the "it's my team" thing. Then locker room issues.

This never died. And if I were Dwight and Dwight's team, I would have asked the same questions.

Kobe is a great player. He's not what he used to be and doesn't seem like he is going to let go very easy.

If you're in your prime, you don't necessarily want to deal with this mess. The mess of the Old Lion not wanting to give up the throne even though it's time.

If it weren't for Kobe, I don't think Dwight would be a Rocket. So I'm glad Kobe is Kobe, because I feel it helped us land Dwight.

I'd watch them play just to see if the ball hogging could trigger a spontaneous black hole.

Believe it or not, I have seen it before, both would hog the ball so much that they would create a spontaneous nuclear fusion effect, blows up the stadium and create a new being called "Komelobe"

On cryptic posts - Its the same exact thing as "Blind Items" on gossip sites, where they tell a real scandalous story INTENTIONALLY leaving out names of the people and its a "Guess Who" game.

Why not have a "Blind Scoop?"

People now increasingly more have the attention span of a goldfish. People want the specifics with no thought. Still really, can't say I blame people too much for being frustrated with the riddles. Sports sites now are more about straight specifics and getting to the point data.

Doc Rocket if he ever comes back, don't think its asking too much if just after a certain short period of time of posting something cryptic he comes back into his own threads, and helps give some concise answers to the riddles. That way no one feels they're left hanging too much. I don't think anyone minds the initial riddles, its more the answering a riddle with another riddle lol.

But he's probably always been a busy guy and doesnt have too much time to check back.

Back in the early days,Doc used to be money, but over the last 4 yrs or so,he's been nothing. Posters will latch on to nothing and blow a thread up trying to unlock a secret message of nothing. I mean, this thread dedication isn't anything that anyone else didn't know. Kobe said howard could be 3rd and be Tyson Chandler like which probably doomed the marriage before getting started. Hey,if people want to believe he has secret info, that's ur deal.
