And I am happy to do it! I hated hiring McHale after witnessing first hand what he did to the Timberwolves and also because I still harbor some bitterness from 1986 when he crushed my young dreams of seeing a Twin Towers championship. I have to admit though the guy can coach and has instilled a toughness in this team that has been lacking. I still like Adelman a lot but compare a tough gritty Rockets team that is winning big games even with injuries to a soft T-wolves team that is collapsing from injuries and there definitely is a difference. So I lift up my fork full of crow to you Coach McHale and eat it with relish!
I am not there yet, I still harbor hopes, but I am sitting at the table and I see the waiter bringing the tray..... DD
The team this year is actually clutch. I don't know whether its Kmart not getting the ball, but whatever it is it's working.
I like the McHale hire too and happy with the change but it'd be interesting to see what Adelam could have done if he had Camby and DaBear. That is the biggest difference from last year. Hayes is not even close being a rim defender and rebounder both of these 7' are. Oh and..Bud would still be staring over Parsons.....
don't worry, the GM is also eating crow...he tried to trade away the team who is about to make the playoffs before the season started.
I still think it would've been a better team. Lowry/Lin Lee/Twill Parsons/Bud Gasol/Patterson Nene/Hayes/ (Maybe Camby trade would still happen We wouldn't be at a free agency problem too. But Nene would be getting overpaid like a mofo
Thanks god the trade didn't happen. Nene is allways ill and Is old and is overpaid With lowry, lin and nene out I can imagine the team Time gives us the reason
It's hard to say. Watching the T-Wolves having a legitimate big man, Nekovic, certainly helps Adelman's game but I think the main difference between the Wolves and Rockets is there appears to be a fire and toughness missing. While this might be due to the players the Rockets of the last two seasons also seemed to lack that toughness. They didn't totally collapse like the T-Wolves now but they didn't seem to have the fight like the team does now.
damn right. still can't believe he was going to give away dragic, scola, kevin martin, and a 1st round pick for an albatross of a contract and horrifically overrated player in nene, and a small upgrade in power forward in pau gasol, while enabling the lakers to acquire pau gasol. thanks, david stern. you saved DM from making one of the most embarrassing trades in NBA history.
This doesn't make sense. We only had Camby for a few games, and was winning even before having him. Also we've been decimated by injuries a lot harder, with last year's top 2 players(Lowry and KMart) out for long stretches. And finally, we're winning at a higher rate than last year. No matter how you look at it, McHale's performance this year is better than Adelman's last 2 years when the Rockets were 2 and 4 games above .500.
No need to butcher an innocent crow, although it does take big person to do it. I am with you all the way. You don't make a serious run with a soft team. It's also a lot more fun to be a fan of a team with a little grit.
If everyone would have finished the season with perfect health then yes, I agree the Rockets would still have been better off, and yes I still wish the trade would have went through. That being said, If Lowry & Nene were out as much as they have been this season then most Rockets fans would have been going nuts over how bad the trade was.
Now that's what real fans do! I respect that. p.s. umm....so we should tank? Anybody? Anybody?..........lol
DaDakota....come on now! Get with the Program! Buy in, close your eyes, take a deep breath, and sign the damn thing!
Nope, I still see him making a lot of mistakes like offense and defense substitutions late in games. Like leaving CP in the game when you are on offense and we need FT shooting. Stuff like that....and he sometimes is slow to call timeouts to stop runs. Not on board, yet..... DD
