I know, I know, but hear me out:

This team is a mess right now. One part of the story from last night is that Lucas had to get in guys faces who weren't playing, not Silas. This team needs a veteran who can step to Wood and handle KPJ because we don't have the coaching to do it.

KPJ is not a PG. We tried it out, it didn't work. Rest of the season should be focused on seeing if he can adjust to the SF position. I'm thinking you bring Wall back for veteran leadership. For all his flaws, Wall as a person is a good dude. He helps out in the community, is a good mentor for young guys, and during long losing streaks last season this team didn't fall apart.

Give Wall 20-25 mpg with KPJ and Green starting alongside him. After Wood gets traded have them with Tate and Sengun in the starting lineup. Bring Nix, Matthews, KJ, Garuba, etc. Off the bench.

    Thoughts?

He should have been playing 20 min a night all along. I don’t believe in paying healthy guys making over $40 mil a year to sit on the bench. It’s clear he has no trade value, so there was very little risk. The Russ trade has proven to be bad on both ends (we could have used a different late 1st to get Segun). Stone’s track record looks pretty bad at this point. Maybe give him one more year but when you consider the Dipo debacle, Wall on the bench, and that Wood and KpJ have proven to be bad character guys….it doesnt look good.

Have we actually discovered he’s not a PG? I thought he was showing immense improvement. The problem is all the pieces don’t fit together and play as a unit. Mainly, imo, Wood. He has all the tools to be set up easily for buckets but he prefers to attempt to make the play himself. He has great touch. If he (Wood) would play OFF a guard he’d get his numbers AND it would be within the flow of the game. But alas…

I’m not giving up on the KPJ/Green backcourt yet.

I don’t think Wall was okay with that though. He is still the better player and would have made a fuss if they still started KPJ over him. Prob figured it would hurt his trade value (if there is any) and they also didn’t want to risk injury. Maybe they expected a deal by now to either move him or free up heavy guard minutes (like an Ego trade).

I don't think he has tbh. He's had a few games where he didn't have 5+ TOs and shot okay. But that didn't mean he was a natural facilitator. He is best as a PG when he's aggressive offensively looking for his own shot. His ability to hit guys in stride is not there, nor is his natural vision. At this point in the season Nix in limited minutes during blowouts has looked like a more natural PG.

Being a PG shouldn't be this hard. KPJ had the g league, a fair amount of time last season, and most of this season to adjust. He hasn't. I don't think he will. Give it ten more games if you want, but I don't think this is going to change. He might have another good game or two, but I don't see it and think we're better off moving on from the experiment.

Like he hasn't been hanging around the whole time? Getting 40 million bucks?

What did he do to prevent this? Nothing. Because he's a shitty leader and basketball player.
