I am sorry but I have so much anger toward K.T. Sure he hit the game clincher against Denver but dang the clock was running down and he had to take it. Before that though he missed about 5 shots. And tonight I can't believe Rudy left him in as long as he did. He can't hit a layup if his life depended on it. And can somebody please tell me why he thinks that he is a marksman at the 3 point shot? An airball? Cmon and when he's not missing layup he is dribbling off of his foot or making a bad pass. For all you posters that bash Mo all the time I don't see Kenny doing any better. Every time he touches the ball I know something bad is about to happen. Also can somebody tell me why Rudy didn't put Carlos in sooner. As soon as Carlos came in good things happened, rebounds, a block and being in the right place to put back a shot. His defense is not bad and he is a hustle player. I wish Rudy would just let Kenny ride the pine. ------------------ Rockets Season Ticket Holder
Excellent post. I had major issues with Rudy's substitution patterns tonight. Mo Taylor for once was able to stay out of foul trouble and was very productive for the time he was in the game. However, Rudy who is in love with KT, benched Taylor the final 16 mins of the game and played KT who btw was pretty horrific. Mo finished with 12 pts 4 rebs on 5-11 shooting in 24 mins; he was having a solid night in limited PT and should have been left in to provide a legit option down low. I was getting the feeling in the first half that Mo was starting to blend in with his new teammates and was doing a pretty reasonable job on the boards, but he was yanked and Bullard and KT were playing the significant portion of the time. Bringing in Carlos Rogers was a very intelligent move in terms of matching up against Wallace. Rogers was able to use his length against Wallace, but the main reason the defense against him picked up was that the double team came quicker. I really did not like the idea of Rudy sticking fully to the KT and Bullard lineup for the entire latter portion of the game. ------------------ Check out the Best Source for Draft Info Draftsource.net
kenny kept the defense honest. numerous times he faked and drove to the basket and created a play on the go. IMO 'los should get as much time as kenny or Mo.
MManal, I am shocked. You missed Mo attempting to play, what he calls, defense? He was getting beat every trip down the floor. His shoes must be made of cement. He also failed miserably on help defense. His lack of hustle is what puts him on the bench. Of course his lack of defense doesn't help either. ------------------ In order to be a success in life, you need 2 things: 1. Don't tell everything you know.
Bob, Are you referring to Rasheed Wallace going off? I didnt view that as Mo's fault all on his own, the double team was extremely slow coming over. Also, Sheed didnt start slowing down until Rogers came in, and the double came over in a hurry. I sure hope Rudy didnt expect Mo to stop Wallace all by himself. Sheed has become one of the premier PFs in the game, and whoever on our team matches up against him needs to be helped. ------------------ Check out the Best Source for Draft Info Draftsource.net
MManal, you don't think that Rogers coming in had anything at all to do with Wallace slowing down? I love KT. I really believe that this guy's going to be our starting PF come the next 6-7 years. He's got great moves, is a good defensive player, and once he starts finishing again, he's going to be a 13-15 ppg player. ------------------ "He was under more balls than a midget hooker."-Bobby Hill visit www.swirve.com and, http://www.geocities.com/clutch34_2000 for great Rocket insight by some of your fellow BBS posters!
Bull even more than walt, at least walt did the thing he was known for(hit the "J"). Bull hasn't been himself lately. It doesnt seem like he is even making 20% of three point shots this season.
Like every player KT has his off games and on games. Now, does Kenny make bad decisions during the game? Yes. Does he also make good decisions though? Yes. It is obvious KT has the potential to be a starter in the league and with time can reach that level. With the pt he's getting and the hustle he's showing look for him to be the player that steps up and takes over at pf. Granted this is the fan of Kenny Thomas side speaking but I truly believe he will be our main pf. Of course there is the whole Los side to our situation. As with many other posters I too think Carlos deserves more time on the floor and using the double pf system with Thomas and Rogers is my suggestion. Everyone should still remember that this is a young team and they will make mistakes, our pfs aren't exactly going to play like Bark and we won't go out and win back to back titles again. A 9-8 record for a team that is completely rebuilding in the west is unbelievable and I am very satisfied. ------------------ Ceo of the Walt Williams fan club. ONCE AGAIN KT = 2 years Mo = 4 years Will KT be better at 4 yrs than Moe is now? People jumping down KTs throat PEOPLE. . . like francis. . . THIS IS HIS 2nd Yr But unless you Moe . . . you cannot have inexperience. I expect more from MOE a. More experience b. HE WANTS MORE MONEY and to be honest . . .about right now they even! They each are weak and strong in areas but overall . . THEY EVEN I think in the long run [INSERT BOLD PREDICTION] KT WILL BE BETTER THAN MOE!! Rocket River ------------------
first of all, mo came outa college likje his sophmore year, not his senior year like KT. And face it, no matter how much you dislike mo taylor, KT WILL NEVER NEVER BE THE PLAYER MO TAYLOR IS .THere defense is virually even, in fact i might give Mo the edge since he's taller. And moe is a much better offensive player. I think after this offf- season Rudy needs to pick between the 2 and then, with all that cap money, pick up a big veteran down low to do the dirty work ala Horace Grant,Chris Gatling, Anthony Mason, or even bringing OT ( Otis THorpe) back to Houston ------------------ President of the Pete Chilcutt Fan Club.
RM95, Yes Rogers had something to do with it, but it was also the double team coming over quicker. It was obvious that Rudy discussed the double team in the time out. Did you see the first sequence after the TO? Steve was called for a foul b/c he came over so fast and practically jumped on Wallace. I have no problem with Rogers being in there last night, he should have been. The issue I had was with Mo watchin while KT was stinking up the joint. KT is not our starting PF for the next 6-7 yrs, the guy is has a pathetic FG% which isnt getting much better. He's just too short to simply turn and shoot over guys. Thats what a frontcourt threat is all about in the NBA today, post up, turn shoot. Or face up, dribble, basket. Its not catch the ball at the 3 pt line and making a crazy whirling dervish move only to be unable to finish b/c you have to compensate for your lack of height. If KT becomes the starting PF on this team, it'll be time to start counting lottery balls. ------------------ Check out the Best Source for Draft Info Draftsource.net
KT didn't do that bad last night. Bullard and Walt were the ones who sucked. But I guess you wanna hear something new
Mo just needs to play more and get more shots to be effective. 20 minutes a night is not acceptable. ------------------ If I make this shot, the Rockets will win tonight. If I miss, they might still win, but I doubt it. If I make two in a row, Florida's votes will actually count.
Excellent post SuperS; couldnt have said it better myself. This is the point Ive been trying to get across but so many posters esp in this thread seem to be deluded by the fact that KT can be a starting PF in this league. Mo, even though he gets piled on like crazy, is a MUCH better player than KT. If KT were taller, he could be a nice player, but its just so tough to be a good PF when you are 6-7. I think the problem is that people fall for KT using all his fancy footwork and crazy spin moves. However, they ignore the result which is the fact that he cant finish over guys bigger than him and shoots under 40%. Mo on the other hand just turns and shoots which is what is needed nowadays. I like the idea of getting an enforcer/banger on this team as that is what is needed behind Mo. I would add Jerome Williams to the list you made. ------------------ Check out the Best Source for Draft Info Draftsource.net

Have you guys had a chance to see Wallace in person? The guy is huge, and has some of the longest arms I've ever seen. And on top of that, he shoots the ball arms fully extended and straight over his head, a la Jack Sikma, and gets great lift on his jump. In other words, he is a bad matchup for Mo and KT. In retrospect, Rudy probably wishes that he had brought Carlos or even Dream in earlier to matchup better with Wallace. My point is don't give up on KT or Mo (well, at least not KT) based on one game against one of the best in the league. KT isn't a starting NBA PF, but he is a solid rotation player whose strengths are rebounding and passing. And I'm writing this as someone who's not crazy about KT or Mo. ------------------ "I can shoot with my left. I can shoot with my right. I'm amphibious." KT may never be a starter in this league but honestly. ..neither should MOE Moe = Mo hype Rocket River ------------------
Who is Moe anyway....the three stooges should be discussed in the Hangout. Anyway, this just in: Rasheed Wallace is GOOD. Really good! He pretty much goes off on anyone he pleases. So I think it is safe to assume that Taylor could not guard Wallace straight up regardless. ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
Live, Wallace's shooting form is NOTHING like Sikma! UGH, that is an ugly comparison. Camby shoots above his head. Wallace has a very pretty shot for a big man, and he holds the ball above and in front of his forehead, not above and behind his head like Sikma used to. ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
