The roster he has compiled is complete garbage. The deals he has made, over paying for crappy players like Moochie and freaking Maloney, and the horrific trades have ruined this team. This mess falls squarely on his shoulders.

We need a GM in here who knows what he is doing. CD was a great assistant coach, but the game has passed him by.

CD just received an extension not too long ago. He isn't going anywhere.

Wow, I was about to start a thread like this. Dawson is a terrible GM. Cato, Taylor, Moochie, and now it's obvious he gave Steve too much money. Every time he hands out a big contract, the player lays and egg and underperforms.

How much you want to bet that he uses Yao as an example and lowballs him after next season?

well maybe Les just dump his mistake and pay him for doing nothing...like CD is doing with Maloney and others.

What ever happened to that Phylicia Rashad? I haven't seen much of her since The Cosby Show ended.

She was on that newer Cosby Show as his wife on CBS.

Guess some of the CD lemmings enjoy the product he has put on the court and the job he has done. Maybe it is unreasonable to expect him to be held accountable for his shoddy contracts and piss poor roster.

Have fun watching us miss the playoffs, again, in a build 3 quarters empty.

How could CD know, three years ago, that EG would turn out this way?

Let's not be scum-- only plaintiff attorneys can expect "retrospectoscopic" perfection as a standard for business acumen.

I'm not saying get rid of CD, but other team's were wary of Eddie Griffin's problems. He wasn't a saint when he was drafted.

He couldn't, and I don't hold him completely accountable for that debacle. But he and Rudy did know what they were getting when they overpaid for Moochie, Mo Taylor, Cato, and Maloney, traded for Glen Rice, traded for Amaechi, and gave up numerous first round draft picks which would come in quite handy now that they've got zero cap flexibility.

Sorry, but the man's track record is a disaster over the last 5 years. About the only thing he and Rudy did right was drafting Mobley in the second round. Trading for Steve only happened because he refused to play for Vancouver. And getting Yao was due to a lottery ball bouncing their way.

Trading for SF (it was a steal) and drafting CM in the second round were great moves. Drafting YM was almost a gimme, so that doesn't count.

    On the other hand.....

    MT long term contract
Cato long term contract (based on one pre season game)
    MN long term contract
Trading three first round picks for EG

Those four mistakes have set the franchise back years.

I would also like to see a LA hire a new GM.

nice shot at plaintiff attorneys, I assume the field you work is 100% prefect, and nobody ever does anything to embarrass your profession..

If it was just the Eddie thing, than no big deal, but that is just the one of many, many moves that have blown up in CD's face.

I just don’t see what CD has done, in the last 3 years to justify his employment. Feel free to make a case for him, I would love to hear it.

If this team doesn't have Yao Ming fall into their lap, where would they be? They'd have one all-star, a point guard, in a conference dominated by all start front line players.

Raven and Count. Dont forget about wasting a #1 on Boochie Nachbar.

For every average to above average move CD has made, there are about 3 really dicey to down right horrific moves.

I thought about that, but honestly the jury's still out on Boki. He's shown some signs of being a player earlier this season. The problem is he's stuck behind JJ and Pike in the rotation.
