Hi Tim! As a devoted Houston Rockets fan, I am very disappointed to see that there are no television stations in our area (Beaumont, Texas) broadcasting the Houston Rockets' games. I am respectfully writing to you today to request that you consider the possibilities of showing the Houston Rockets' games on one of our local stations. With the games being broadcasted on area stations in the past, there has been a growing fan base in our area. The addition of games shown in the Beaumont area would benefit the Rockets, their sponsors as well as the many thousands of area Rockets fans. I thank you in advance for any and all considerations, as well as the time and effort spent on this matter. Vincent
Tim responded in a Beaumont Fan thread last week to say he was checking on this, that the Rockets often are out of the loop on this stuff, but most importantly to give everyone his email address for this topic.

On getting the games in markets like College Station/Beaumont -- please send your information directly to me at timm@rocketball.com. Some of these things are not directly within the team's control (DirectTV blackout rules, etc.), but if we can do anything, we will.

HP, thanks for the address. I mailed my request to my local TV station (KFDM, channel 6) and they said: "It's not quite that easy. KFDM has, in the past, worked with Time Warner to bring a limited number of Rockets games to this area. Time Warner is still in negotiations with the Rockets organization. Hopefully, those negotiations will be completed by next week. When this happens, KFDM will be able to air approximately 20 games on Time Warner Ch. 18. We will keep you posted." Jo Ellen Bailey only 20 games? i guess better than nothing right?
In the past it has been about only slightly more than 20. the Rockets home games have been on FSSW and so you are really only talking about 41 road games that were not available in BMT.
Wrong! Fox network is not carrying any games in Beaumont this year. No station has carried any Rocket games this year EXCEPT FOR 1 GAME by ESPN.
Sorry I omitted the "in the past" from my post. Ohh wait no I didn't. It is right there in the first sentence. BTW I live in Beaumont and have seen every game this season. I guess I am lucky that I don't live in the Time Warner area. When I lived in the TW zone all but about 20 or so games were available. Either on FSSW, ch. 18, NBC or TNT/TBS.
Timberlake out of Sour Lake. They carry KNWS. I won't get the games on WB39 though because they just switched over to the Beaumont WB TW also carries more channels than Timberlake but I usually don't have time to watch a lot of TV anyway.
I feel the Rockets made a tradeoff this season - Rockets are reaching a greater audience in the immediate Houston area (more potential customers) with their new TV deal at the expense of the audience in outer lying areas who used to rely on FOX SW for their games. I'd test out League Pass to see if you are in Rockets territory. If you are, that sucks If not, get League Pass.
Same problem in Eastern Texas: Fox Sports SW last year; this year, nothing. What is "league pass?" Is that with cable or dish?
To Beaumont fans, I got the answer from KFDM (channel 6 local): check back with them for the schedule: www.kfdm.com The Houston Rockets organization controls the rights to their games and is very strict as to when and where the games can be shown. Time Warner and the Rockets have completed their negotiations and so 18 Rockets games will be shown in this area on Ch. 18 on the Time Warner cable system. KFDM helps out on the technical end. The first game is Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 9pm. A complete schedule of the 18 games should be posted soon on our web site. Jo Ellen Bailey
I'm ****ing sick of this. No game, again. If they can't get a deal, fine. But let me know so I can make other arrangements. Don't blatently lie to us about about broadcasting games when there's no deal done so we won't complain. This is a complete joke.
You guys didn't miss much tonight but I feel ya. TimeWarners cable went out at 8:10pm and I had to drag out the old rabbit ears which picked up a snowy but watchable game if you knew what you were looking at. And guess what they got it fixed just as the buzzer was sounding for the end of the game.
After last night's game I officially withdraw my request for TV or radio. I am better off and didn't know it. Who needs more pain in their lives. (the Rockets need to go to a high school basketball camp so they can learn how to play BASKETBALL; I don't know what they are playing now, but it is not basketball! Maybe dodge ball. Maybe kick ball. Maybe stupid ball, but not basketball)
Translation for MatrixReloaded: I am being sarcastic, the Rockets played so badly last night I am glad I didn't see it. Too painful. If they continue to play this way I don't think I can watch. The Rockets violated so many fundamental principles and practices of the game last night, that what they did should not be called basketball. O.K.?
