Any Timmy's fans out there? Sorry, the picture was taken with my Razor and the quality is just real poor. I didn't intended on taking any picture, but during the game, I decided to take some to share with you guys. First, let me give you the run down. Last night, I went to watch my buddy team compete in a little tournament, where each team paid something like $600 bucks to enter. Anyhow, Tim's team was the 1st seed and they played at 7:00 PM. My buddy team was the 2nd seed and they played at 8:00. The winner then play Tim's team right afterward. My buddy team won so they went up against Tim's team. They played 20 minutes half, like college, and had 3 referees. On to the poor photo and I will follow it with some more commentaries Timmy pacing on defense Timmy standing around on an out of bound play larger view with Timmy behind the 3 pt line on the left Timmy fell to the ground after being ball pressure by two defenders Timmy ride Basically, they had local players and former college players from Unv. Miami, Oklahoma, Tulsa, etc. My friend team had a former Owl, a tall lanky guy who roomed with Eddies Jones. He was quick, lot of moves and can shoot the 3pt well. Tim's team was just loaded with awesome players. They had two guys that can jump out of the building. One guy look exactly like Kobe and another guy was big and built and he had several nasty dunks in the game. As for Timmy, he didn't play defense, probably because he could hardly move laterally anymore. My buddy, a PG, was easily able to cross him over on a mini break for an easy layup. Timmy was still built, strong and smart. He ran the offense beautifully. It was amazing to see him execute, knowing exactly how, when and who to dish the ball to. I love one play, where he was trailing and a 2 guard was trying to setup the play behind the 3 pt line, he came down whistling a few times for the ball, got it, and swish a 3 pointer. He just know when to take the shot and when to dish. FYI, it was played at McGulliver high school in Kendall, Miami. There was no crowd, just a few friends and mostly girlfriends and wifes with little babies. I chatted with Timmy while he was waiting for his 2nd game. He and other players were making jokes, commenting on the game and was real cool. They were constantly checking the score on the Indy and Pat game. Timmy was rooting for Indy. Au Revoir ...
He was my favorite player when I was a kid. That crossover is still the nastiest (non-palming) crossover I've seen.
It's sad he can't do that anymore ... knee problem, can't move laterally. He doesn't drive to the rim as much and only occassionally back down his defender. But his passes are still on the money.
I tell ya, I woke up at 2:30 this morning in a cold sweat, screaming "What is Tim Hardaway up to?!?!". Thank god you posted this thread, or I would have gone crazy...
Thanks for posting that. Sounds like a cool experience. But you never said who won the tournament and what the prize money was if any.
What a coincidence, I also woke up this morning wondering why haven't I seen an A-Train one liner posting in the games forum lately. Could he be too busy tangoing with a carrot.
Before the game, my buddy told me that his team have match up problem with Tim's team and the outcome showed that. They kept the game within distant, but Tim's team just has too much talent.
Lately? Dude, welcome to 2005. You have no idea what tough dance partners carrots are. It really is a full time job...
No kidding. I wonder what the challenge would be with him. If I knew that, I would have asked him about it.
Very cool, thanks for the info. As a UTEP fan I've always been a HUGE Timmy fan. Glad to see he's still out there playing and having fun despite the bad knees...
You should have posted this in the [official] Tim Hardaway update thread instead of starting a new one.
I was rooting for Timmy to be a successful hoop analyst, I'll take Timmy over that butt face Greg Anthony anyday.....too bad Timmy can't speak!
