That’s quite the turnaround from those hateful comments he made a few years back. I’m impressed.

It’s not a sports website, so that’s probably why they’re not too concerned about calling him a “legend” and listing his primary team as the Heat. Kinda like when I remember seeing a People magazine headline about “NBA star Brian Cook” getting married.

    Hardaway's killer crossover was legend.

That's why it was such damn shame when he made those comments. But it's also why this turnaround is so redemptive. Good for him...

I'm more accepting of the homosexual community now that Tim Hardaway has announced his support.

Huge win for the gays today.

He is trying to make himself hire-able.

It also shows ultra-conservative religious fanatics actually make LESS sense than his insensitive statements. But thats D & D worthy stuff.

Actually, he was much worse. He was probably the worst in-studio guy I've seen.

To the moron Texans that seem to litter this page with saying "he needs money" or "publicity stunt" -- where is this money coming from? What is he doing for money, here? What is he promoting? How is he making a single dollar through this?

 Biggshot blogger can't connect 2 and 2? After the remarks he was fired by the CBA team he worked in management for and the NBA distanced themselves by kicking him out of All-Star weekend stuff.

They were very offensive remarks, and all his apologies were shallow and meaningless. This is huge progress in repairing his image, and thus his marketability, regardless of whether or not it was his intention. Of course we have no reason to suspect this was his motivation in changing, and I'm a firm believer people can change on such socially constructed beliefs.

More power to him, less to you.

You should know about article comments. Here's one from that article -

Of all the moronic positions that can be had out of this, which one is more preferable?

    - Saying someone needs good publicity to repair a negative connotation attached to them?
    - Saying you don't like gays and don't feel comfortable around them? (Assuming most people really do privately, thats a subject onto itself)
    - Going to "counseling" after saying the anti-gay comment?
    - Judging someone to be a petty THUG with no proof of that? Then somehow assuming that its PERMANENT with no room to change?
    - The religious right REMOVING council members because those members actually had the decency to consider gays as equals?

I'm NOT saying its right to call it a publicity stunt. I believe Hardaway is sincere, but you can naturally think he wouldnt mind the effort lifting a monkey off his back. There's a difference between outright ignorance and intolerance, and being a bit skeptical of a motive.
