TIM DUNCAN IS NOT MVP... HE'S A CHOKER... CHOKE CHOKE CHOKE CHOKE 30 seconds left in the game.. and the ball bounces off your foot... if that's not a choke.. i dont know what is...
why does EVERYONE choke against the lakers? is there something about them? it's not like the lakers win the game themselves all the time? a lot of times the other team just throws the game.. it's pathetic. someone clothesline kobe.. that smug SOB LUCK THE FAKERS!!
regular season MVP is worthless... the post season MVP is kobe bryant... i mean.. what is in that guy.. that gives him no fear? why don't other players play that way? i almost never see kobe bryant look dejected.. or look like he's given up.. kobe always has the look of a killer.. timmy duncan needs to learn that look.. that's why i don't think yao ming will ever become great.. coz he doesn't have the eye of the tiger..
The choker is not Tim Duncan the choker is Tony Parker. I couldn't believe when the ball was on the ground rolling toward him, and Tony Parker stood there instead of going to the ground for it. Of course the Lakers dove on the ground for the ball and got it. That kind of lack of effort is the big choke.
The problem is: WHY IN HELL IS DUNCAN FACING UP? Go inside big man. The odds of a big man turning the ball over from facing up, increases 10-fold.
choker? not MVP? please... I guess you don't know what MVP stands for. It's MOST VALUABLE player. I guess you also couldn't tell that when duncan was in foul trouble and out of the game, the spurs looked like chickens with their heads cut off out there. They were so lost without duncan. It was like +15 with duncan in and -15 with duncan out. that's a 30 point difference. That's where you get Most valuable player from. And yes...the REAL choker is tony parker. Please call a timeout if you can't get the ball in bounds instead of just throwing it to Kobe. Nice move Tony.
Tim Duncan falling to the ground like that was errily similar to Scottie Pippen falling down in Game 1 of the 99 playoffs against the Lakers.
This is the same thing that happened in the 80s pretty much, ALMOST all other teams were good until they met the Lakers. ALMOST all teams except the Rockets. That's is why I'd like to see the Rockets get a shot at them. Based on past history (when the Rockets field a team as good), the Rockets are the only Western conference team not to back down against the Lakers. One could argue that the Rockets have a slim playoff edge against LA, in that, even though the playoff series between these teams is 3-3 all-time, the Rockets wins came in the West Finals , 1st round, and 1st round. Whereas the Lakers series wins came in the 1st round, 1st round and 1st round. The Rockets have players that in the future can develop good enough to make a good 54+ win team. Man I wish our team would learn how to win. I am of watching other teams continuously fail against LA. Sure would be nice to have the Rockets get their chance.
Horrrrrrrrible offensive execution for the Spurs down the stretch of the game tonight. Just horendous. "Champions" don't make those kind of mistakes, plain and simple! The Spurs going up 3-1 to the Lakers would have been monumental. This game was within their grasp Now with the series tied at 2-2 the pressure is on the Spurs again. Spurs have to win on Tuesday or they can kiss it goodbye. Watching this game today it was clear that Duncan is a one man show for this Spurs team. Lakers have Shaq and Kobe, Spurs ONLY have Duncan. When he was out of the game Parker or Ginobili have to step up and be "the man." Parker playing against (Fisher) the "weak link" of the Lakers defense is just playing horribly. More is expected out of him. The worse Parker plays the closer Jason Kidd gets to San Antonio. BTW, why is it when the Spurs guards penetrated the lane there were NO fouls called but when the Lakers penetrated the lane there were a ton of fouls called? Consistency anyone? How come Shaq had like 2 fouls and Duncan, Robinson, Rose, Willis had a boatload? Consistency anyone? What is going on here?!?!
This is the same old story. LA doesn't necessarily have to play great at the end of games, they know that SA and Sac are just mentally weaker at the finish line. LA doesn't choke, SA and SAC do. In 2000, it was Por. LA just mentally outlasts their opponents. Which is why people overstated the influence of on-court talent. If you just went by on-court talent, LA would not have won in 2000, Por would have. In 2001, SA had a better team on paper. In 2002, Sac had a better team on paper. LA knows how not to lose.
Duncan wins the MVP because Shaq and Kobe split too many votes, and because he doesn't have nearly as many basher/haters as do those two. But he's deserving, so he can have it.
You sound like Bill Walton. Didn't you watch the first 2 games? "Oh, the Spurs have such a talented and athletic and deep team to support Tim Duncan!"
Your right. We have a great playoff history against them. I'm tired of waiting for another crack at them. No excuses, short of major injury to key players (god forbid), for next season. I'm sorry, and I enjoy watching the games, but I hate the Spurs and the Lakers both. They're not the Rockets.
BTW, Duncan didn't choke. Parker choked. Ginobili choked. They couldn't even handle the ball right. And it's pure luck that Shaw banked in that 3-pter at the half. That one shot turned out to be the difference.
