Finally, a golf Sunday to get my juices flowin'...after this Rockets game ends that is. Tiger and Phil head to head. Should be a good one.
did anyone just see that stat? since 1999, the 41 times when tiger is in the final group, he beats the person in his group by an average of 3 strokes! utter domination.
How does it go . . . The field looks good I feel Good My swing feels good. . . . I like My chances Rocket River
When Tiger hit a bad approach and Phil couldn't do much better, he probably doesn't deserve to win. If he had knocked that chip in....
But will he win a major this year? I'd like to see him win the first one to shut everyone up quickly.
I just about jumped out of my shoes when I saw that. A great finish. I wan't rooting for one or the other. I just wanted a dramatic finish. I kinda root for Phil sometimes 'cause he's due some wins for all the hard work and consistency he's shown over the years. But I also would like to see Tiger return to being a contender. This ougha be an excellent golf season! -- droxford
I'm a Tiger fan, but I've got a soft spot for Lefty. I was hoping that chip went in so there could have been a playoff.
Yes that was a marquee pairing, matching great shot for great shot and screw-up for screw-up. But what it lacked was the potential for disaster hanging over the players heads that Augusta National, TPC Sawgrass or the rockhard greens of a US Open has. 18 at Doral used to be one of the scariest holes on the planet and now the guys are hitting bump 7 irons into it at 460 yards. With the balls as hot as they are the only really exciting holes on regular courses are the 350 yard driveable par 4's and reachable 625 yard par 5's. I guess all the Tostito's Opens sell their tickets by offering up sacrificial lamb courses for birdie binges but for me the golf season starts April 7th.
