So I was about to order a couple of $29 tickets from Ticketmaster for the Woodlands. Prior to checkout, I notice that they've tacked on almost 30 dollars of fees for just 2 tickets. So basically I'm paying for 3 tickets but getting 2. Is this normal? Any way to cut down on some of the fees for an event at Cynthia Woods? I knew they added fees but this is absurd.
Really no way to avoid them unfortunately. Do you live near the Woodlands? If you buy it at the box office instead of online, you won't get those extra fees tacked on.
Yes you can. Check their website for box office hours, but you'll be able to buy it anytime at the gate and avoid the extra fees.
Ticketmaster and livenation rape you with fees. Its so annoying. And I live a little ways outside of Houston (where most shows are, nothing comes here) so I can't just go to the box office. Same thing happened with me, bought two 30 dollar tickets for a show at the Verizon Wireless Theater coming up, ended up like 90 dollars total.
I don't know if there are NO extra fees, I would call ahead. But You'll avoid the TM crap. Like more sports games, etc. TM is like paypal...fees fees fees. We got 4, second row floor tickets to Tosh from Tosh.0, standup in Houston in 2 months.
BTBAM? I posted a thread about this exact topic when I was trying to buy tickets to that show. Still haven't bought them yet. Probably gonna just go down to Verizon.
Vampire Weekend actually If I lived closer to Verizon I would just go, but I'd rather pay the fees then make the drive out there just to get tickets.
I knew I wasn't out of my mind when I saw that this thread was started yesterday. I was like why does this sound so familiar lol.
The worst part is that there is no competition to them. Plus with the merger between both your only option is to get the tix at the window if possible. I once had a conversation with the owner of a DC Sports team which was quite pleasant until I brought up the horridness that is ticketmaster, at which the convo turned ugly when he stood up for ticketmaster. I later went back and did some research and realized he was on the board of ticketmaster. SMH!
I like the Toyota Center because it doesnt use Ticketmaster. I dont remember what the fees were for a concert i went to back in March there, but I dont think they were as bad as Ticketmaster if i remember. And ouch, that kinda sucks haha. Still, their prices are ridiculous and it sucks for someone like me who can't just go to the window (Because no one ever comes to Beaumont. Jerks)
Here's one I ran into recently. I was willing to pay the ridiculous "convenience charge"... but when they tried to add on a $5.65 "processing fee" I decided to go to the box office instead. $11.80 on a $15 ticket, what is going on here?
Toyota Center is just as bad. I'm on their site right now, and I randomly pick an event. This Friday, at Toyota Center, WWE Raw Live. One 75.00 ticket is now 94.50 after a 4.50 Arena fee, plus a 10 "convenience" fee. They also want to tack on a fee for delivery of tickets. Will call, which used to be free is 6.50. Flash Seats is 4.50. That 75.00 ticket is now 99 bucks.
I haven't been to the Toyota Center this year yet, but I can't believe they are now charging for will call and flash seats. Absolutely ridiculous.
Oh wow, thats ridiculous. I must have completely forgotten what the prices were. I bought those tickets back in like December though (was to Muse) and money wasnt an issue for them (tickets were a gift to me) so I don't really know if I really paid much attention. Gah these prices are way too crazy.
yeah would rather give the extra cash to the artists then to ticketmaster. they really dont serve a purpose, nothing at least you couldnt just bypass with the internet these days.
