It's hard to tell by just one game, but sometimes I wonder why Popovich makes such quick substitutions, he really doesn't allow the team a group to play for extended minutes.
Not just one game, Ive watched probably half of thier games. I just don't think they are consistant enough to make a run at a title.
Way too early. Two seasons ago before they won their 4th championship, the Spurs looked undertalented and out of gas as late as February. Typically, they don't play their best until the 2nd half of the season. You aren't crazy and may be right, but don't use last night's and tonight's games. Their squad has several players new to both the team and the rotation. Manu & TP have missed a bunch of games and are rounding into form. Give them some time before making a conclusion.
Every year the Spurs go under the radar, and every year they "somehow" become a threat in the playoffs. This year's no different. They're still going to make some noise come playoff time.
they played a competitive game last night then flew 2 to orlando and got there at 3 a.m. I didn't even expect them to make it this close.
Funny how that works... Some people in this board want to fire Rick for leaving players out there too long. One season... whether or not it is this season... the Spurs Dynasty will fall. Their ways of playing makes it harder to predict when it'll come. Like previous posters have said, they come strong in the 2nd half and become contenders. But one season... they'll play like crap in 1st half, but will never climb back out.
woow..i wouldn't right off the spurs..they are more experience than us in playoffs situation. But maybe they won't get a high seed as they used to in the past years. The SW division title will be ours!!
Roy needs some help. He's been spectacular the last 4-5 games but most of his teammates haven't stepped up.
The Blazers play no defense and Roy is the only player that gets to the line consistently. With Oden yet to become a legitimate inside presence, the Blazers are still a jump shooting team. Of course, they have so much talent that they are better at it this season. As much as they've improved, I still see them as pretenders, short of a trade. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't make the playoffs despite the good start. BTW, Oden is pulling a Yao tonight. 20 minutes and I believe he just got his first rebound.
43 for Roy right now. I'm watching this game, and I'm looking at two teams that won't be around for the 2nd round (assuming both make the playoffs). Neither team can stop each other. So glad we have Battier and Artest. 45 for Roy now. "MVP!" chants going on the in Rose Garden while he shoots FTs. 47 for Roy now.
Blake misses the three. Lets see if he chokes again. This is my first chance to see him choke with my own eyes. Don't let me down Blake!
