Though I taught you the meaning of my name in the Tax Day Protest thread http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=166412&page=11&pp=20 in a rather harsh fashion, I respect that you have the honor of facing criticism rather than the cowards who tuck-tail and run, also known as basso, bigtexxx, and trader jorge. They fear the pimp hand, (as they rightfully should) but they'd rather look in the mirror knowing that they are cowards, than stand up and fight for what they believe in. Instead, their method of resistance is passive-aggressive trolling. (in my opinion, some tampons stuffed down their throat would help)

I believe this forum should be for honest dialogue that brings us all closer to truth through a sharing of sincere ideas. These cowards have used it as a trolling-haven. While they have gotten what they deserve (a truly pathetic existence), they ruin the board for the rest of us. You, on the other hand, are more of what we need: a conservative voice that is willing to engage in dialogue and patiently I might add (we'll work on the rationality part later).

Cheers to you thumbs, as well as anybody else who is willing to engage in honest dialogue as well. We could use more sincere conservative voices. I don't want this D&D forum to continue being a huge liberal circle-jerk with trader jorge, basso and bigtexxx in the middle.

Sorry to disappoint you pimphand, but this is not the place for intelligent discussions. There are many people here who will throw out some decent ideas, but it quickly turns into a troll fest. Find a few Basso and TJ inital thread posts, compare the first few posters in each of the threads, and that will be the bulk of the trolls in the D&D.

What's funny is that pimphand's post was the trolling post here

I understand your doubt, I've been disappointed many times by the direction of this forum. I think we have an opportunity for a new type of conservative voice in this forum if it is encouraged, rather than the bitter ones tied to defending the old George W. administration or seeking revenge for the unfair shake they thought they received from liberals during those 8 years.
For example, these super-slanted thread titles on news events don't help us at all, they direct the fight towards the biased thread title rather than the substance of the news.

I think if we all focus on trying to get closer to the truth through dialogue, the patience and sincerity that thumbs displayed will be shown more often by all of us. I'll participate in this movement, and I'm sure other people will join along, if the forum admins allow for such an environment. This forum shouldn't be treated as the [SPAM] forum of this board, where all inappropriate discussion and harmful members can direct their rage.
(A good start/ first step would be to have thread titles say what the title of the news article is so I know what the hell the thread is about without being misguided. The result of these threads are just to refute the title rather than the content... or to call names at basso).

I look forward to everyone's response by action, including the admins'.

You actually seem serious about this. My advise is to find forums that are specifically about politics. If you really want to D&D, all I have to say is that you are missing out on much more intelligent discussions out there. TBH, it would be nice to see the D&D permanently dropped, but I do understand its a necessary evil.

This D&D is a joke and always will be. It is here only to keep the trash out of the hangout, but I think it creates more problems than it solves.

What an absurd, self-serving post, with all due respect. You post in this forum and yet, like others before you, slam it and say it should get tossed in the dumpster. Sir, you are the very definition of a hypocrite, in my opinion. If you find this forum so god-awful, and heaven knows it is far from perfect, why do you post in it? Couldn't possibly be that you find pleasure in doing so, could it? No, of course not. You just said it shouldn't exist.

No, I would be a hypocrite if I said I never engaged in discussions in the D&D on CF.NET. Do I believe my posts are futile and irrelevant for the most part? Yes. I have ignored many troll posts and have stopped myself from posting many replies. Perhaps one day I can live up to your level of expectation.

Sorry Deckard, but I was around before the 2000 election of Bush, pre D&D, and the tone of the BBS was very different. We were all Rockets fans and politics was not a big issue on the board. We were all one big happy family (for the most part) of Rockets fans and Jazz haters. It would have been very nice if politics would have never been introduced to this board. I have been intrigued by political issues for quite some time, and yes, I do get caught up in it. But no, im not going to apologize for my beliefs and posts. You can inaccurately call me whatever you want, but I still stand by my initial comment.

Well, I started lurking here the spring before the Francis trade. I remember what the BBS was like when it was called ClutchCity.com. I remember when this forum was created. I was against it, but as with all things, Clutch was proved right in the end. If you can't see anything hypocritical about you posting in D&D while calling for its extinction, what can I say? Carry on.

I was lurking back then, but the boards were much smaller than the amount of members we have now. You can't expect a one happy family with so many members. With so many diverse members, you're going to get opinions that strongly clash.

It's like wanting to eliminate restrooms because it stinks.

First, I’m flattered to be the subject of a thread-title. That said, I won’t be posting nearly as often nor as loquaciously (I hear that collective sigh of relief :D ) because of new responsibilities.

As Rashmon pointed out, the tea party-goers are adopting the Obama internet strategy, with some refinements to assuage some of the more paranoid who don’t trust the administration. I personally don’t agree, but prudence is a sound philosophy.

These are the formative times for the new movement. It may collapse. It may sprout. Some want to create a new, moderate, inclusive party – the name of which has not been determined but the favorite so far seems to be the American Party. Others favor re-taking the Republican Party from the far right, the religious right and the old-line party leaders who have a corruption of philosophy if not ethics.

The media is accusing, and will continue to accuse, the new movement of being racist since they are afraid to really probe what the movement is about. That might split off a significant number of moderate to left-of-center Democrats, a risk the media dares not take.

Obama’s policies and choice of administrative “czars” as well as the economic collapse he inherited formed a perfect storm to trigger an “uprising” borne on the winds of governmental frustration. Participants are not racists because they disagree with the President. Using the “race card” accusation infuriates the vast majority in the movement. Include me in that group.

I’d love to outline the tenets of the new movement, but the whole “platform” is far too molten to have a definable face. That’s part of what I am doing – not making decisions but merely refining/forwarding the various ideas and “tabulating votes.” All I know is the fringy dross will evaporate, and a solid core of democratic, fiscally-responsible beliefs will triumph.

Anyway, God bless you all (regardless of which God to Whom you swear allegiance, including Jehovah, Allah, Buddha, money, power, idols or whatever).

My new sig is “Free Soil, Free Labor, Free Speech, Free Men, Free Spirit -- Freedom.” Peace.
