Throw the MLE (or part of it) at Chris Duhon this summer?

    Chris Duhon, 22 years old pure point guard from Duke; 24.3 mpg; 5.1 ppg; 4.8 apg; 2.4 rpg; 0.96 spg; 0.345 fg%; 0.348 3p%;

    He is a RFA this summer (I am not 100% sure), and Chicago will be $15 millions under the cap. However, they have to worry about Chandler and Curry, who collectively will demand more than $15 millions for the first year of their contract extention. It will make it harder for the Bulls to match anything close to MLE for Duhon I think.

    Should we throw the MLE (or partially) at Chris Duhon?

    BTW, I suggested the Rockets offer some money to the 21 years old Mo Williams of Utah Jazz last summer. Instead, Milwaukee got him at $2 millions a year for 3 years, and he is averaging 8.9 ppg and 6.0 apg (20th in the league).

    And us? We got a 34 years old Charlie Ward for the same amount of money...

    Anyway, we need some young blood to back up the aging Sura! Sponoulis is young, but unproven. I suggest we make an offer to Duhon and have him and Sponoulis fight for the backup position. Then, cut Ward for good, and probably Barrett as well.

    It would be nice, if we didn't sign both Ward and Sura last season. Ward, I believe is a multiyear contract. Sura, we just can't really afford to let go.

    I, however, do like what Duhon has to offer. He's well-trained in Duke by coach K, he understands the system and is anything but selfish as a PG. He knows his bball fundamentals and he's known as a gritty player that can rebound, shoot FTs, and score if he has to. What he lacks is range... kinda reminds me of Sura some. This guy can play injured and puts the team ahead of himself. Why not?.. aside from the fact that we have so many PGs like we do PFs

    damn.. didn't read the title. I was thinking almost minimum or something smaller. The MLE is definitely too much for an experiment

    They need to throw the full MLE at Vladimir Radmanovic, and then see if Seattle matches. They probably will, so I think Antonio Daniels is next up on the list.

    If Daniels opts out of his contract he will be a Unrestricted free agent and easier to get than a restricted free agent. I had my doubts about him before but I think he can do a pretty good job. If we can add a PF who can rebound,defend and shoot with our 1st round pick plus him next season it could help us quite a bit.

    I read somewhere that Seattle is talking to Chicago about a Radman & Chandler swap.

    Who heard the guy on 790 am around 6:45 pm talking about Duhon + Reiner (filler) for Ryan Bowen? :)

    Makes sense, the Bulls do need someone to defend those big 2 guards, their rotation is just too small.

    I would trade Ryan Bowen for a second tier Point guard in a minute- this guy contributes nothing.....

    I would love to have Chris Duhon on this team- very good Point....
