Three weeks from tomorrow, Saturday, September 30, we will be holding a poker tournament at my house. The buy in will be $25 and the payouts will depend on the number of entries.

Up to 16, we will pay three places 50%, 30%, 20%.
    17 to 24, we will pay four places 45%, 25%, 20%, 10%.
    Over 24, we will pay five places, 40%, 25%, 20%, 10%, 5%.

The game will be No-limit Hold'em. Everyone will get $1500 in chips and we will play until the last person is standing. Blinds will increase every 15 minutes (5X per hour) and there will be a ten minute break after every five blind raises.

The blind schedule will be as follows...
    Level-Small-Big
    1 -10 -20
    2 -15 -30
    3 -20 -40
    4 -25 -50
    5 -50 -100
    6 -75 -150
    7 -100 -200
    8 -150 -300
    Color up to 100
    9 -200 -400
    10 -300 -600
    11 -400 -800
    12 -500 -1000
    13 -600 -1200
    14 -800 -1600
    Color up to 1,000
    15 -1000 -2000
    16 -1500 -3000
    17 -2000 -4000
    18 -3000 -6000
    19 -5000 -10,000
    Color up to 10,000
    20 -10,000 -20,000
After level 20 (the fourth break), blinds double every 15 minutes.

You can register at any time between now and 1 p.m. the day of the event, but we will be starting no later than 1:30 p.m. on September 30, so if you are going to be later than that, you will need to arrange to get your buy in to me beforehand. If you are late, we will randomly draw your place, set your chips out, and will take your blinds until you arrive.

When you arrive, you will draw a card for your table and seat. I will try to limit each table to 8 people, so the draw will be a number from Ace to eight and the Ace will be the dealer for that table. In the event that the Ace is not drawn for that table, the lowest number drawn will be the dealer for that table.

You will be expected to conduct yourselves as if you are in a casino, which means no violence, threats, or outrageous behavior will be tolerated. There is no smoking in the house, but you are welcome to step outside for a smoke. If you are not present when your blind is due, your blind will be drawn from your stack and your cards will be folded once the action is on you.

Refreshments will not be provided, but there will be room in my refrigerator for a few drinks or snacks. If you are going to bring a large quantity of refreshments, please bring a cooler for your stuff.

If you have any other questions, please post in this thread so that I can clarify for everyone. If you would like to register, please email me through the board or at my moniker at gmail dot com.

Assuming a lot of people show up....Will you have enough chips to accomadate this or should everyone that has chips bring theirs. Also I think it would be a good idea to have two sets of cards per table to speed along the game. next to deal can shuffle one while a hand is going on.

not having an actual dealer per table is gonna suck. it slows the game down considerably. i would suggest that as soon as someone gets knocked out, they should volunteer to deal if they have any type of experience with it. i wouldn't mind doing it myself, but i plan on winning the whole thing if i make it out there. :D

I should have at least 1500 chips if everyone who has committed to bring theirs actually does. However, if you have chips, please bring them just in case.

One thing we could do is have a volunteer from each table act as the full time dealer and just pass the button around to keep track. We did this at my cash game last weekend and it worked out pretty well. Then, assuming people who are willing are knocked out, we could get full time dealers.

I will have two decks of Kem cards and several decks of regular cards. If anyone else has Kem cards they are willing to bring, that would be fabulous.

To be clear, if blinds go up every 15 minutes, that is FOUR times per hour......

    :)

    Andy,

1:30pm will probably not work for me as I have a BB gun shoot with my oldest son and the cub scouts that morning in Austin.

    :(
