    http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/9073693/nba-lebron-james-next-decision

"With these restrictions and the penal tax structure, the Heat may have to examine making a trade involving one of their three stars and breaking up their All-Star core.

With James as Miami's key figure and Wade as a Heat legend who will be 32 next year, the most likely candidate to go probably would be Bosh, who has lots of value around the league. Moving Bosh would give them a chance to restructure the roster to keep Wade and James while putting new, cheaper supporting pieces around them.

Of course, the Heat wouldn't do this lightly. But despite the sensitive and complex nature of the situation, Heat president Pat Riley probably will have to consider such a move between now and next season."

Bosh has an ETO at the end of next season (2014). IF Miami wanted to make a case to LBJ and Wade and keep them after the 2014 season when they can all terminate and enter FA, they'd have to free up cap space to add veteran pieces around them for the minimum. Meaning they might have to move Bosh's contract to do so under the new CBA.

This situation creates a problem for Miami which other teams with expiring contracts could potentially take advantage of. It's a risk in that Bosh has the control with Player Options in 2015 and 2016. What do y'all think of DM maneuvering to take advantage of the situation?

If Bosh opts out you can try to resign him, let him walk to pursue other FA in 2014 or hold onto cap space for 2015 to pursue Love?

What do y'all think of Bosh's fit here, the value of him as a player and/or the flexibility of making subsequent moves if he doesn't stay? Might be a improve the team for the short term without sacrificing flexibility for the future kind of move.

TBH I'm not sure how to feel about Bosh's game anymore. It's hard to tell who he really is playing behind LBJ and Wade. His player options make me nervous...

To add another dimension, if DM doesn't make a move to sign any major player this summer, he could use the cap space to trade for Pau on the cheap to make an impact for the 2013-14 season. He'd also be a nice expiring for Bosh should Miami look to move him before the deadline. Just a thought.....

So, how much better is Bosh compared to Josh Smith and Paul Millsap?

Yeah I'd say he's definitely better than either....it's just hard to say now with where he is on that Miami roster. I know what he's capable of is no doubt better than either Smith or Millsap.

Just a pipe dream but what if we got Bosh whenever he becomes a free agent. PF is the spot that could use the biggest improvement (though DMo and TRob have bright futures).

Stupid article. It's all 3 or nothing for Miami. The reason they all have player options is precisely to prevent Miami from trying to go behind their backs and trade them off piecemeal. If Miami decides they need to shed one of them, it will have to be by agreement of the big three, so there won't be any need for a trade and Bosh or Wade can simply decline their option.

Bosh would be the perfect fit for this team.

I don't understand this. If you're Miami, how else do you make a case to keep 2 max players? The new CBA makes it impossible to have 3 max so if they (like every other team) would want to acquire/keep 2 max players. LBJ and Wade would certainly know if they enter into FA and go elsewhere they'd still be looking at going into a situation with at most one other max player and a roster filled out with talented rooks or vet minimums.

They must know one would have to go in order for Miami to have a chance at keeping 2 of the 3.

Pfff, who cares? We gave up the best PF in the league, PatPat!

Why are you worrying about such scrubs when PatPat was let go? You need to riot about Morey's idiocy about letting a future multiple time all-star go!

    ;)

I have no problem with trading Pat. I have problem with trading him in the middle of a playoff chase for a lotto bust. I'd be OK with getting Millsap for him.

Bosh is completely expendable, they can replace him with another non max pf. The lebron wade wing tandem is just about their formula.

lol, T-Rob hasn't even finished his first year and he's already a bust? By your logic, so is Anthony Davis.

I would love to get Bosh, but to make to truly make it an incredible move, it would have to be in conjunction with a another move or two.

For example, sign Pekovic with cap room. Trade Asik+Parsons+someone else for Bosh. Pekovic/Bosh/Delfino/Harden/Lin/TRob/Anderson/Beverley/Smith.

Example 2, sign Iguodala with part cap room, trade for Gortat somehow(perhaps take Beasley's horrible contract off their hands + 1st round pick + prospect), trade Asik+Parsons+someone else for Bosh. Gortat/Bosh/Iggy/Harden/Lin/limited depth.

LOL well honestly Miami would be stupid if they let go of Chris Bosh, the guy has improved tremendously from his days in Toronto. He can defend anyone from positions 5-3, he's great at passing and he doesn't settle for Js anymore, even though he's quite deadly from the post all the way to the 3 pt line. You just won't find a more versatile big man than CB apart from LBJ, he's a big reason they've been winning so many games.

Problem is even in the event Miami trades Bosh I doubt they'd trade him to us, Harden+Asik+Lin+Parsons+Bosh would automatically give us the best starting 5 in the entire league, Miami included. Maybe we can offer DMo+Trob+Asik to make it happen lol.

If they wouldn't trade Bosh, how would see Miami moving past 2014 given the CBA? It seems they can't really operate the same way anymore with 3 max?

If they do trade Bosh out, why wouldn't we able to offer the best deal? They'd want a significant expiring to get cap relief, and either cheap vets or rookies. I think we have all those to offer, perhaps more than most any other team IMO.
