Are you kidding me? I knew Head wouldn't even play this year. I'm surprised he's played as much as he has. He'd be great on Boston or Orlando, where he can stand around and sink 3's all day and play halfcourt defense. But on this team, Francis and even James and Bonzi are better options.

I'm sure Morey did see such a chance. He probably even had it calculated. Probably somewhere around 0.01%.

with all the drama at the guard positon: too many players not enough PT, SF and the coach (need I say more), Mike James (the way he has played probably a lockeroom cancer, new game plans (or lack thereof), coach change

hardly blame Head for not getting into a consistent rythem and improvement over last year. Hell alot of the guys that played well last year have regressed, Ming , battier, Reefer,

poor Head, he is gonna be thinking of himself as trade filler as well,

I dont think he realized what a poor ballhandler Luther was.

Also, Bonzi is taking a lot of minutes at SG.

I knew Luther would decline this year under Adelman. JVG's system masked his flaws and this year we have too many other guards. Luther hit his "head" on the ceiling last year.

I don't blame Head, he's just a marginal rotation player at best. Our two super soft stars deserve the blame.

Problem is that he's undersized as a 2 and under qualified as a 1. On a team like maybe the Warriors, Suns or the Magic, maaaaaaaaaybe can Head be really effective.

What I don't understand is we CLEARLY need perimeter shooting.

Wouldn't it make sense to award Head 10-15 minutes off that alone?

It's not like Wells is tearing up teams. Head hasn't had any chance to develop a consistent rhythm, but I'd definitely cut 5 minutes off Wells' minutes, 5 minutes off Alston's minutes, and 5 minutes off James'.

All Head can do is shoot, but heck, that's exactly what we need at this point.

Is there a player on this roster that hasn't declined playing Adelman so far this year?

I don't know why anyone would think Luther Head would "explode." The guy is *****ing pitiful and has no business in the regular rotation of a western conference playoff team. He epitomizes the mediocrity that has characterized Rockets role players since '96 - undersized, dumb, and one dimensional.

LOL! Good one. I meant that Head doesn't fit Adelman's system because his handles are so weak, he can't shoot off the dribble, doesn't shoot off picks and he doesn't create for others. It's hard to mask that at his height in a "motion" offense that doesn't park a big man in the low post 95% of the time.

That’s Adelman’s system in Sacramento. The offense I’ve seen so far this season hardly resembles the motion offense I remember seeing in Sacramento, other than the occasional cut to the basket, which surprisingly Head does better than any of our other guards.

Judging by what I’ve seen this seen, outside of Mcgrady, nobody on our roster fits Adelman’s system.
You have Mike James and Steve Francis stagnating the offense whenever they’re on the floor. Neither of them fit a “motion” offense of the Kings.

Alston and Wells both can’t shoot worth a lick. So they obviously doesn’t fit a motion offense.

And if dribbling, shooting off the dribble, shooting off picks, and creating for others is important in a motion offense, Shane Battier darn sure doesn’t fit.

Not saying Head is any better. He's just not that much worse than what we're putting out there.

It's difficult for players to explode or have breakout years for 2 reasons:

    1) Adelman doesn't give consistent minutes. Minutes seem to vary on a game to game basis. More than 1/4 of the season in and you get the feeling Adelman is still "experimenting"

    2) With the exception of Yao, Tmac, and Battier, and Alston Adelman isn't giving any player significant minutes. It's hard to get into a rhythm when your ceiling for minutes is 25. He needs to shorten the rotation by 1 man.

Head's still scoring at an efficient clip compared to the other guards. MJ is in a bad slump right now. Give his minutes to Luther and see what happens. Head hasn't really been given decent minutes yet.

Air Bull said in the Raps game he thought Luther deserved more time and was a "great three point shooter" and excellent back cutter".

What we really need is an exceptional quick release three point shooter who can come off screens to catch and shoot. Happen to know where any of those guys are available??

Head needs to penetrate. Only after enough penetration will Head eventually explode.
