It was mentioned in the Houston Chronicle by KT that RT ran a play on kenny at 3 spots last year and I really think with KT's quick moves and with a medium frame this year, I really think we will have a legit small forward. I mean, what do Rockets got to loose? It's a do or die for KT"s contract, but if KT succeed on 3 spots, other teams has something to address to their players. Oh! and Kenny has a good perimeter jumper.Let me hear your thought!

I agree that Kenny is a definate option at SF. But, the way Clutch is talking about Boki; maybe, Boki will be more important hitting 3's. Kenny isn't a 3 point shooter.

But, I think that Kenny has the ability to play the motion offense.

If KT can become an adequete option at the three, I wouldn't be surprised to see him resigned and Mo traded. KT would help with Boki to play back up minutes at the 3, while he would be the first back up for Griff at the 4.

KT gets better every year. He works his arse off in the summer. I can't wait to see this team.

Yes! I love it, Kenny can play the three. He is very athletic, I think others think he is not because he came in the league at 260. Last year at 235 he was able to get to the bucket cosistently, now if he could only make a few more that would be great. I think people have to get away from making desinction between the 3 and the 4. With players like Dirk, Duncan, Walker, and Garnett, the line has been blurred.

Clutch said he was automatic from 17 feet today, that's plenty of range for the three. You need 3's send in Rice.

If he can play the three on a daily basis, in a NBA season by all means give him the starting role especially if he can duplicate last season stats. Rice needs to prove that he can stay healthy during the entire season if he expects to start, and Nachbar I have high hopes for him but I doubt that he will start this season by him being a rookie an all.

I just love what RT said when he said that Kenny can do little bit of this and a little bit of that. Also he compliment Kenny on his footwork.

I just can't wait to see this guys play!:)

Much props to Kenny Thomas for working extra hard for the possibility of playing more. It's nice to see a player put in such dedication to what he does.

Here's my thought for Kenny at the 3.

I do not like the idea right now. A small forward needs to be able to shoot from long distance to play that position. Thomas was 0 for 16 from 3 last season.

That being said, Kenny should be commended for slimmimg down again. And if he can show (me) that he is capable of guarding guys like Pippen, Marion, Byron Russell, Glenn Robinson, odom, Grant Hill, Nowitzki, Lewis. and so on, then the idea would be more appealing.

Kenny cannot let these guys take him off the dribble because that will put Yao, MoT, and Griffin in foul trouble. That is what I question about Kenny. Threes are quicker than fours.

Maybe it's a change for the better having a sf who doesn't just jack up threes. In the past we've had Rice, Walt, and whoever else at the three just jacking up shots. We now have someone who's skills are beating people off the dribble and the mid-range game.

Kenny's inconsistent shooting has been one of the biggest strikes against him. I'm thrilled to hear that he's improved his mid-range jumper. If he proves he can hit it consistently outside of practice, I'll be sold that Kenny can adequately play the 3 successfully in this new offense and would like to lock him up long-term.

The more I think about it, the more I feel Cato, not Kenny should be the one we should talk about not having room for. As people have said, the distinctions between the positions have blurred now. Subtract Cato and Rice from our frontcourt and there's still plenty of minutes to satisfy all of Yao, Eddie, Mo T, Kenny and Nachbar. We need Cato this year while Yao adjusts, but after this year, I don't think a big man with limited skills is a luxury we can afford, not when you have a skilled player and hard worker like Kenny who wants to stay with the team. As long as Kenny can play with two out of Yao, Eddie and Mo T together on the court at the same time, there's no reason why we have to have a true '3' play a significant bulk of the small forward minutes.

Motion offense doesn't rely on a true three. Kenny is a true three in size, he'll be quick enough on D, and he brings a stronger boards and inside game to the plate over other threes. In the west he will help nullify some of the bigger front lines. If we need 3 ptrs. at the three postion we have "Air Boki" and Rice anyway.

Kenny long term will be a great asset of the bench assuming Boki starts at 3 and EG at 4. KT brings tremendous energy, hustle and rebounding that no one else has brought.

KT would be the 4 on offense & the 3 on defense if he were on the floor w/Taylor who has the nicer stroke & doesn't seem to like the contact anyway. 3's don't have to have 3 point range, just the ability to spread the floor & Taylor's consistency from 20 feet or so is all you need. If opposing teams want to leave their 3's on KT then post their asses up.
