Now alot of you may disagree with me but I don't think the Rockets really need to look at a replacement for Walt. Fair enough he maybe struggling and we do need another back-up 3 man but I think we really need a back-up for Kelvin or maybe even a starter. Also I don't think Kenny Thomas is gunna fill in the 4 man position. He needs to mature and he is trying to do it from the outside, He needed Barkley to help him with his game!!!!

The Rockets are solid at the PG and SG positions. They really aren't at any of the other ones.

I think this year's draft pick will be somewhat dictated by what free agents will be available after next season. I'm not sure who's up for free agency, are there a lot of SFs, PFs, or Centers?

Plus, this year's draft seems to be deep in SFs and PFs. There's no real 'start', but you never know.

It would really help Walt's game(and hence the Rockets)

    If the Rocks
could land a starting 3 via
    draft or trade.

Walt plays his best ball coming off the bench 5 minutes a game.

    Especially in blowouts.

Are you the new '360Degree' (remember that guy?)?

It's quality, not quantity. Although I must admit that signature does seem to interject a certain amount of quality no matter how pointless the post. [IMG]

    uhm.

No. I am not the "new" 360.

No. I am not the "new and improved" 360.

I remember him though. At least I dont go around posting in other people's threads solely to promote my own.

As for quality and quantity, I really care for neither. [IMG]

    Carlos,

I think Walt is fairly safe in his position and the rockets will keep him. They will probably goo after another 3 but for the time being I'm backing Walt to be a rocket next year.

It's your namesake that I'm guessing will be the subject of a lot of trade talk this offseason

Walt Williams will be a Rocket next year, though not for lack of effort by the front office. If you were a GM would you pick this guy up for 4mil+?

I think that we ought to keep Williams over Bullard because he is a more balanced offensive threat. Both the Wizard and the Bull suck at defense, but Walt can flat-out score, albeit inconsistently at times.
I still feel like we need a better small forward. Somebody who moves well without the ball and plays defense. Walt will get big minutes, but we don't have a defensive three (I'm not counting Shandon, who's a real two). So a rookie or a FA are needed. But let's not forget that we need a center.

I think we need to get a power forward like Marcus Fiza/Kenyon Martin in the draft this year. I think we should keep Walt. You know he's not really that bad. A good all around offensive game, despite bad defense, isn't all that bad. If we get a sf free agent in the offseason, then we can play Walt off the bench. And he'll probably do better that way.

Walt is not in anyway an answer at the 3 spot.

We need either a scorer or a defensive stoper there.

IF we move SA to 3 full time, then we need a PF or C that can score in the post up game.

Francis and Mobley need a big man scorer to compliment the little game the Rockets have now.
