Is it going to be the rising stars or some Super stars. I want to see VC T - Mac and the franchise. DOes anybody know the format this year? And if the 3 years or less year will be used.
they need to ease up on the rules on the contest and have more contestants... the spinning wheel video to copy a dunk isnt creative.. they should let the players do what they want on all of their dunks IMO.
I would like to see.. Stevie Franchise Vince Carter Kobe Bryant Tracy McGrady Amare Stoudemire LeBron James Barring any spinning wheels ofcourse.
I wanna see my two favorite players in a one on one dunk contest: Yao vs. Steve Nash I wonder who would win... I'm guessing a 4 would do it.
See I don't know about that... I think the averge guy who does weights might be able to beat him in arm wrestling... he doesn't look like he can lift up 200 pounds over his head. I seriously wonder what Yao could do. Do you think he can do the VC arm in the rim? Maybe a 180? Windmill?
OK, you guys are sooooo way off. Do you not remember the previous 2 years?????? Jason Richardson all the way man. In my dreams: Franchise VC T-mac Desmond Mason J-Rich Kobe Amare Lebron
Yao is gonna be swoll in a cuople years. did he say that he enjoys lifting weights. the difference is obvious from last year. 295lb to 310lb
They should adopt the College Slam Dunk Contest Rules. They give a player a time limit to do as many dunks as possible, and the top 1 or 2 dunks that a guy can does during that time span are used give them a score. It would allow for a player to show off his stuff with out having to worry about messing up.
This is who I'd like to see: Vince Carter Jason Richardson Desmond Mason T.J. Ford Ricky Davis Baron Davis Steve Francis
If Vince, T-Mac, or Kobe dont compete in the dunk contest and LeBron is.. than im sure LeBron will win... Did anyone see the McDonalds All-American Dunk contest lebron was in???
It should just be neighborhood style. Everybody takes turns dunking and when everybody is done you pretty much know who won at that point. Why even score the damn thing. Just let the judges get in a circle and decide. It shoud be fun. Why all this seriousness.
The reason they dont do this becuase they expect more from an NBA player like not messing up. No excuses i guess, IMO of course
Am I the only person who liked the wheel? Most of the dunks the recent crop does are crap compared to the Dr. J, Wilkins, Jordan, etc. dunks from yesteryear. I wonder how much less b****ing there would be if Steve hadn't been in it and failed so spectacularly. It isn't even like all of their dunks were determined by the wheel.
The reason Steve failed so spectacularly exemplifies the stupidity of the wheel. Steve had no shot at making that dunk. Just because a guy can jump doesn't mean they can do every dunk. Some guys glide to the rim, like Jordan, some guys dunk powerfully like Dominique, what's the purpose of making someone try a dunk they are not equipped to do other for you point out Francis failed at something.
The sad part was that Steve didn't even try to do the dunk. He just did some totally different dunk, which was far more embarassing AFAIAC. The thing is, you still get 2 other dunks, so if you screw up one, then you just move on. You don't be a crybaby about it. Anyway, the rules are the same for everyone, so the other people might get a dunk that they can't do either (didn't Gerald Wallace screw up his wheel dunk?) You just go out their and try your best. Heck, maybe if you actually try to do the dunk you are assigned you will rise to the challenge.
I just want to see at least, Francis, Carter, Richardson, Wallace, Stoudamire, maybe Lebron, McGrady, do the dunks they are capable of doing. Carter vs. Francis in 01 was the best contest since the Jordan vs. Wilkins days, and they didn't need a wheel. the best thing the wheel provided was the old footage.
Amare Stoudamire dunks like a Larry Nance, not an artistic dunker, I don't specifically want t see him dunk.
