Sorry, but this isn't a Titans board, or a UT board, yet it seems on a daily basis, in one forum or another, that someone feels the need to start a brand new thread on VY.

They all go the same way. Some say enough already, and the others say everyone's whining. It has gotten really really old.

If some people want a VY thread, then it is up to y'all. But can we stop having so many needless new ones?

Sorry to rant, but I'm really tiring of the same people rehashing the same stuff in entirely new threads.

Thanks for starting today's newest Vince Young thread in yet another board! Oh that fatty, he's so coyly ironic! It makes me pee my pantses!

Hey here's the cover of ESPN the Magazine this week:

Fellow BBS men: marvel at this picture, while paying Fatty much needed attention by posting in his thread.

I actually find the VY threads really entertaining and sometimes, hilarious :D

the best so far was "VY, the great" thread, it was really cool and if I am not mistaken, it had 80+ posts :D

I am looking forward to seeing a VY thread in the "rockets forum" :D

There has been one VY thread started per day here at this BBS?

Says the "lawyer" with an avg. of 12 posts per day. Not sure you're one to speak of "irony."

is it really that many. I think some of you guys are paranoid. whether you like it or not, this is bigger than houston texas. vince young is currently the biggest story in sports. watching "around the horn" last week, two of the panelist said he should be sportsman of the year.

So says the "poster" who doesn't know the definition of "irony" or the proper way to use "quotation marks"

Yes pg, it IS that many, in fact there are TWO threads about him on the front page in the Hangout right now, started a mere 26 days apart. It's destroying Fatty's new year. That's why we must post in his threads, to keep him going into 2k7...

Calling someone an attention w**** when they post more than anyone else here is quite ironic.

As for quotation marks? Whatever. I used quotes around "lawyer" because I don't feel you are one, or if you are, you certainly don't have a large workload. You've become quite tiresome.

i think there are more issues in the Texans Astros Comets Dynamo Comets forum than anything.

I see no problems with the one VY thread in the hangout. I don't mind talking about his accomplishments with the Titans or at UT, or at Madison. Although, I think the original intent was to taunt Texans fans cause it provided no insight, but just a picture to oogle at and have your pants at your ankles.

The second one in the hangout was to taunt the Texans fans again.
    "For VY Haters,"
Yet a poster said, if you don't like, don't read the thread. Wasn't that thread to call out, the "Dude doesn't play for the Texans, so I want to egg it on folks"

If you don't know who I am talking about, it's the poster that can't control his language in chat, so my homeboy, my vato, my ndude, boots him.

The thing about the VY threads in the Texans forums is that he doesn't play for the Texans, he plays for the Titans.

The one thing I like about football over basketball is that they promote the City and the Franchise, and not the individual players.

I think thats why you have life long fans of certain teams, like the Steelers, the Cowboys...The Packers, and Bears.

Yeah, I know it's hard to be a life long Texans fan when they have only played for five years.

Guess what. A long long time ago, the Cowboys were a new team. The Giants and Lions were too. Even the Titans.

How come nobody hates on the old grandpas for being a fan since the teams inception?

The thing about the multiple threads in the other Houston sports forum is that it's basically to say I hate the Texans/Texans are r****ded/Go VINCE and I guess the Titans, in your face Texass for not choosing VY.

Basically, Poo Slinging at the Texans.

I honstly think, if the Texans were NOT in a position to draft VY last year, people would still follow him to whatever team he went too.

I remember a post by a member of this forum saying that they will cheer for whatever team Vince goes to.

When I go home tonight, i will search for that one single post. It might kill me.

If I don't find it, I'll just out the poster.

    Thank you for your time.

    Get Healthy Yao.

    Go VANESSA HUDGENS!

That's fine. But people in the VY threads want Houston teams to lose. That's what we hate. It's really a Houston bashing thread. They are not just a "neat story" thread, it's blatant trolling against Houston fans. It's the same people who are not happy the the Texans won last Sunday. Pro Titans threads should not be prominent on a Houston fan website. It's like if people posted here worshipping Dirk N while hoping for the Mavericks to beat the Rockets and Yao. (And I do think that would be the case for certain jock riders here if VY played basketball. Their man love for VY would be greater than the Rockets and Houston). It just does not belong here imo.

BTW, There is also 3 VY threads on the front page of the Houston Texans forum (though one is rightfully locked).

    Go Houston.

That would be hypocrisy, not irony.

Anyway my voluminous posts are in fact, used to draw attention to myself, which I confess, though are used to draw attention to my point of view and to discuss various issues of the day, or to engage in witty banter with fellow online community members. I generally believe this contributes some meaningful insight to the BBS.

Your posts generally are the "HEY LOOK AT FATTY, HE'S GOT AN OUTRAGEOUS OPINION LIKE A MORNING SHOCK JOCK, CUZ HE'S TEH FATTY FAT b*stard DAMN HE'S A CHARACTER!" variety. Such as this hackneyed bit of Oscar the Grouch-esque humor you've got going in this thread (which I have livened up considerably - please donate to the tipjar in my honor) However I also agree that mocking your various exploits is not entirely devoid of value.

Anyway, I'd say my posts > your posts...which suck. As a general matter.

LOL @ teh fatty caring about my workload, or me or anybody caring that fatty cares about my workload or my career. That is hilarious. I'm goign to toss in some smilies to emphasize this. :D :D

This is laughable. Anyone on this board who has met or knows me knows that I am who I am, both on this board and in person.

If you think I'm creating a "persona" on this board, you're mistaken.

SF responded to your thread ~ when a thread is posted one generally expects comments to follow.

I am not going to intervene to stop the fight between you and Fatty on VY, since I have no opinion on him one way or the other. But your "correction" on Fatty's use of "irony" seems to be off, too. The closest characterization would be "double standard."

    Carry on.

Anyone should be able to start a VY thread if they want to, if it's in the Hangout area.. cool. Anywhere else.. think people will start to get annoyed.

Go Titans.. please cover 3 points this weekend.

Houston fans ARE annoyed. That's what you don't seem to understand. This is a website for Houston fans. Therefore we do not care for The Tennessee Titans fans coming here and agitaing the Houston fans. Now if you went to a Tennessee Titans forum/fansite EVERYONE would welcome you with open arms because you, like them, are a fan of Tennessee and not Houston. Get it? Titans propaganda doesn't belong here. It's just common sense.

"Hypocrisy" and "double standard" have similar meanings. The former has a narrower meaning, which applies only to someone accusing others of something she is guilty of herself (which I think is what Fatty meant). The latter has a broader meaning. The "double standard" can be applied to either the speaker or some other people. So I believe Sam is correct.

    Carry on. ;)

I used it in the exact way SF did. They're either both right, or both wrong. Regardless, the idiot keeps trying to rattle my chain, and I'm tired of it. Of course, if I posted as much as he did, I guess I'd have to figure out things to entertain myslf, also.

    SF needs a life.

I think many "Houston" fans are not understanding why there is this huge VY following. Many Houstonians go to UT, gone to UT, fans of UT, etc. Vince represented the pride and joy, coming from a Houston high school, of Houston. He led the Longhorns (we already have a rift between UT and A&M on this board) to a national champion and us Longhorns beamed with pride. Now when that star wants to play for his home team and gets passed up, people start to relate. They feel (maybe even I? I am not sure) that he was betrayed in a way. Think about this, there are many Texas Ex's on this board, and they have been cheering for Longhorn football for a very long time (since it is the only football team had to cheer for, for quite some time). I wouldn't call them (us?) Titans fans, consider it a VYOF. These threads would be popping up even if he was succeeding on the Raiders, or Niners, etc. Unfortunately, he plays for the Titans.

I feel like sometimes it is wrong for people to say that VYOF betrayed their city by not cheering for the Texans, maybe the Texans betrayed them. People can relate to that betrayal perhaps. Logically, to me, it makes sense.
