Maybe it me but this team seem to be a better then 2 weeks ago. They actually score more now but there D is not there.
I see improvement too, we are a lot quicker on the perimeter, and we get a lot of wide open shots. Chemistry is not there every night, but it is getting there. Yao still needs to be more aggressive in wanting the ball, and Tmac needs to shoot a lot better or take it to the rack much stronger, but the overall team effort is much improved. DD
I see great improvement also. If the Suns wouldnt score all those 3 pointers I am pretty sure the Rockets would have won the game. It was actually fun watching the Rockets play and there were times I didnt even pay attention to the score....but that could have been because the pace of the game was so fast
I don't know. This game was a mix sign. The rockets weren't even playing their best ball and yet they only lose by 10 to the suns because of phoenix's perimeter shooting. But what if phoenix only made 10 instead of 15 3s? we would have won...but then would that mean we're good or would we just be lucky?
don't forget those FIVE rim-ed out shots in the 3rd and 4th ... it was so apparent, even the commentators were talking about it (oh yeah, and maybe Tmac needed a breather in the 1st half... he looked winded out there)
this team is definetly improving. i think if we face phx again we will be better beating them. This team is doing everything right. now all they need to learn is how to get the lead after a comeback. i just hope that our players don't get down on themselves. just keep playing guys, and ya give Yao the ball
Ya i alsol thought we played very well agaisnnt a very good suns team. We hung in there, and if not for a few bad shots or shots juss not going in, we'd have definitely had a better chance of winning. LIke today, the suns juss shot lights out, tmac and sura cant hit a thing, and we lose by 10. Not bad at all.
which is better? win a poor-performed spurs for just 1 or loss to a unbelievalbe-performed suns for 10, i prefer the latter. when we won the spurs, it is just a T-mac miracle, but today, though we lost the game, but we played like a real team. our offense is becoming quicker and more organized, Yao did not get enough points, but when he is in court, amar did nothing, wesley can shoot, and obiviously he can do more than that. after the trade i see the chemistry, i believe rox can get a .500 win rate in this though month.
Our interior defense is good. It seems like we're developing more chemistry as a team overall. Dikembe does his role...Sura and Barry and Wesley know what to do. Juwan has been playing well imo. We still need a PF
At the very least, they aren't as painful to watch as before. It was actually good basketball. The Suns were simply a lot faster and weren't missing any shots. Not too much you can do about that. The offensive improvement is definitely there. I just hope it isn't at the expense of the defense.
Fatigue, pure and simple. These were on wobbly legs after running so much. Had the pace of the entire game been just a bit slower, some of those shots would've gone in and we would have had a much closer game at the end.
I would like to chime in on this as well. Despite the loss, I saw a lot of encouraging things out there. They definitely showed the effort. I loved it when Mutombo and Yao on different occasions througout the game dove for lose balls. I saw other players such as Bobby Sura fighting for lose balls as well. It was really refreshing to see that kind of effort on the floor. The crazy 3 point shooting by PHX is an anomoly as far as I'm concerned. They will not shoot that well all the time. It was VERY encouraging how Yao stopped Amare. If the Rockets put in this kind of effort all the time we will start to win a lot of games. TMAC was not himself last night, but I saw a lot of encouraging things. You cannot fault the team on the effort they brought last night.
We lost to standings-wise the best team in the NBA....and could have won if the shots hadn't stopped falling. Unless a deal you just couldn't pass comes along for Mo or Howard, I'd be done making moves for now. Let this team marinate and see what it can do next year.
In a 7 game series I believe our team could beat phoenix. We'd have a better chance adjusting to their team than they can of adjusting to us. Once we can get used to their offense I don't think they will be able to score as easily. They are taking many teams by surprise with their high powered running offense. But adjustment is key and I think we are versatile enough to stop them in a series. We're gonna have to if the seedings hold up the way they are now. I'll be happy just to get to the playoffs Phoenix was unconscious from beyond the arc though. Very scary team but there are apparent weaknesses that they have that can be adjusted for.
Ha ha, too true. I was disappointed in the loss, but not frustrated. The Suns' legs really won the game for them. If TMac had been able to get it going, if Yao's shots had rimmed in instead of out, if Marion hadn't taken over in the 4th, coulda woulda shoulda. No shame in being beaten by a better team. Right now, the Rockets need to work on getting Yao more involved in the offense; he's been taking care of the rebounding nicely, but we're starting to see that running really does take a toll on the poor guy. I'm confident that it's a problem that can be worked out with more time together. Sura is probably going to need surgery soon, too, so our other guards are going to really have to step up while he's out. It's great to finally see some good ball movement and smart decisions, though. The team will only get better as they get more familiar to one another.
