Would you rather see Rashard Lewis, or Bostjan Nachbar in a Rockets uniform this year. How many of you would be willing to do this I mean Boki was really thrilled to be here it was obvious at the press conference. I like the idea of going with Boki because I think that he will pan out very nicely. We shall see so I digress what would YOU rather see?

I think we will see them both in Rockets unis. They both want to play for Houston and I think they will. Who the Rockets trade will be interesting. I'd be surprised if Seatle wanted Rice and KT, but you never know. I don't think we will trade Nachbar.

I would like to see a monkey play SF. That would be awesome. We would have more room under the salary cap because he would work for peanuts!!!!

I am sofa king tired of Rashard Lewis threads.....however this one is a bit different.

I think we should give Nachbar a shot because I'm not sold that Lewis will produce in our system and I don't want to be expected to pay Lewis if he doesn't pan out as a Rocket and have to relive that day we passed on him in the draft.

I would rather have Nachbar back up Lewis and maybe get some time at the 2 then have Rice play at all. Any time Rice is on the floor he is stealing time from a player who is part of the future. If Lewis comes here and he rocks then we have options. The only option with Rice is wait for his contract to end, and hope he doesn't steal to many minutes.

The bottom line is Nachbar is not going to start next season and may not be ready the season after that. Would you rather have him back up Rice or Lewis.

I think any sane Rocket fan would say Lewis. The only issue becomes if we can't get rid of Rice, and this is only an issue to Rice. If Rice doesn't get his minutes because there are two younger more talented players on our team, I couldn't be happier.

Although I have some problems with getting him, I would want Lewis backed up with Nachbar. If I could only have one? Nachbar. Why? Because he will cost A lot less. I like the idea of signing him cheap, but we won't be able to do that for long. Eventually he may make an impact on signing Eddie and Yao. Nachbar on the other hand may be what we need. He probably won't score 18 ppg, but we don't need that. He will be a good role player to us, while Lewis would probably be just another star.

Now if Lewis doesn't care about money and wants to stay 10 years on a cheap contract... :D :D :D :D :D

    Wow.

Both guys are in their early 20s.

One is a veteran of the NBA who has improved every year and last season averaged over 17 points.

The other averaged 13 points in Europe.

    Lewis! No question about it!!

I wonder if being drafted in the second round causes people to discount a players' talent. I mean Cuttino has the same problem. Many members of this site wanted to trade the #1 pick for Odom + draft picks, preferring Odom when Lewis had better numbers and has never been in trouble. Some of these same members are now picking Nachbar over Lewis. Nachbar may one day be a very good player. I think we would all agree that a 17 point average for Nachbar would warrant praise for a successful year for him. But Lewis already does that. Lewis has as much potential as Nachbar. Lewis would be a no-brainer!

Let's go with Nachbar. I am so tired of the this Lewis crap. Nachbar will be a better shooter and a lot faster for the fast break.

    :D :D :D :D :D

While Lewis would probably be just another star? That really makes sense. You have done a great job discrediting your choice.

Sorry if it was confusing. What I meant was if Nachbar took less shots now and in the future, that would give more shots to the stars on our team. (Griff,Steve,Mobley, maybe Yao.) If he scores 10 ppg on a few number of shots, that would be good. Now if Lewis comes here, he is just too talented not to get 15-20 shots. This may be ok for 1 or 2 years, but Eddie will start to need some shots himself. I don't mind Lewis for a year or two, but not more. This team would seem a lot like Portland with to much talent and no role players.

Having too many players that can MAKE shots is a problem we haven't experienced lately.

You have a point. But, maybe the offense would not have to go through the two guards. Maybe Francis and Mobley would be more inclined to pass if others hit their shots. Rather than taking shots away from the other players it is possible to have more shots due to more rebounds, increased opponent turnovers and decreased Rockets turnovers.

Lewis does everything. One key people are missing is his ability to rebound. When I watched him, he had numerous baskets after pulling down the offensive rebound. That is a talent that you are born with, not one you can learn.

Also, envision our interior defense with Lewis, Griffin and Ming. All three are at least 6'10'' and all are shot blockers. It is tough penetrating when there is a shot blocker in the paint. Imagine two when Griffin is in the game with Ming. Now imagine three if Lewis played for the Rockets.
