I'm so glad you posted that! Like one of the couples that came on stage, I have lived my entire life Alone in Atheism. After watching this video, I am convinced that God really does exist! I mean, it all makes sense now. Children that suffer with debilitating birth defects are sent by God so that their parents may find Hope and be saved from the burning fires of hell! A woman Lost in Islam, who would probably have suicide bombed a bunch of school children by now, can only be saved by converting to the One True Religion! If you are Addicted to p*rn, not to worry! God will help you repress your urges! Thank you, kind sir. You have exposed me to the true depth and power of belief.
My church did this about a month or two ago. I guess these cardboard testimonies are somewhat common.
^^^ Don't be so cynical. If it helps them feel better about their lives and themselves, there is no harm done.
+1. some it works for, some it doesn't. when it works for some, and they feel that others are damned or of lesser morals/sanctity/humanity, then that's when the backlash starts, and IMO that backlash is justified.
For example, when a poster begins a thread with the subject "This is what this life's about." Which of course implies (and not subtly) than any who disagree with his premise (that cute and simple cardboard messages have the power to cure heathens of their wantonness) simply don't understand life. Poor, stupid heathens.
Christianity is an offer. Not an ultimatum. What's wrong with trying to find a little hope? Whole campaigns are based on it. Also... are opinions and personal choices officially dead?
I'm not either. I'm saying vote. I'm saying vote the candidate you most identify with and most addressing your concerns. I just happen to be voting McCain... and unlike some, I admit it freely.
Nobody's knocking Christianity, just pointing out the problem with the thread title which pretty much is an ultimatum. "This is what this life's all about..." No, it's what they're life is about. Christianity might be the single biggest group, but there are still over 4 Billion people on this planet who aren't Christians.
