It's my senior year spring break, right before I graduate from UT and have to join the 'real world' but here I am stuck in my apartment with some weird stomach virus thing, I can't keep food down, can't sleep cause I'm throwing up, and meanwhile, I have about 30 friends having the time of their life down in Padre right now. On top of that, I don't even have enough energy to make it to any SXSW shows because I can't keep food in me long enough for it to turn into some kind of energy. Although I was expecting plenty of toilet hugging to be going on this spring break, this was definitely not what I expected. I'm thinking about switching to the 151 & Ramen Noodle diet, I figure if I'm going to spew, I may as well be plastered while I do it. -Turbo
Man, suck it up and get out to some shows! If you throw up, people will just think you're some record industry type who's had a little too much to drink.
I agree with the sucking up part of it. You're going to puke anyway. It might as well be alcohol influenced. BTW, it's your senior year of college. Most people have given up Spring Break by then.
Amen to that. I was thinking that as I drove by the local high school this morning (guess what - they are on spring break this week).
Is part of growing up spending half the day on your knees getting an up close and personal view of the toilet? If so, then I should be able to file for social security within the next couple of hours. BTW, I had taken this week off of work, for the express purpose of lettin loose one last time, while I could still get away with it. Oh well, back to the chicken broth. -Turbo
Starting next year, I will get Spring break again for three years. Grad School is gonna ROCK! Plus, I'm taking vacation next week, so in effect, that's spring break for four straight years.
That's what I thought... and then reality hit. Grad school (for me at least) was tough. Spent most of the Christmas break and all of Spring Break just catching up on reading and papers.
I'm taking 12 hours of classes so I guess I qualify as a student. My school is out on Spring Break this week. I'm typing this at my job. Gotta love going back to school at 28.
Well, my spring break consists of me lying poolside and drinking.... Nothing much more than that. Just chillin with friends, and having a good time. Trying to lose my "winter" look. SUcks that you are sick dude, hope you feel better.
Argh Good about this spring break: Braces off (top row, at least) Bad about this spring break: I have to spend most of the time studying for my classes, which are currently kicking my ass
sorry Turbo... I'm 28 and I still get spring break, and will continue to get it for the foreseeable future. (see, when you've taken all the college classes you can, go to grad school, and when you've exhausted that possibility, start teaching college. That way, the "real world" can be pretty well avoided. ) I've never done the Padre type thing - usually go hiking somewhere - but it's interesting to say "remember the spring break where we all went to the Grand Canyon? Wow, that was ten years ago now." of course, I'm not on spring break right now... because it was last week. The rest of the world is on it now.
